Hi Rob, Most of the work is meta-data indexing and rights management. I think it's pretty different though from Lucene's integration (which is Java based). I think the easiest way to integrate an external search engine is using the RSS feed a (Main.WebRss)_ and the XML output of XWiki (?xpage=xml) With proper admin rights this would allow to get the whole content on a per page basis (attachments would need to be loaded differently). The I think the Google Search Appliance has a way to check rights for each page getting in the results. If you manage to integrate it, we would love the contribution ! Ludovic PS: very cool to see XWiki being used at EMC. Don't hesitate to add your install to http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/References/ Rob Masson wrote:
Hello All!
As part of our project we are looking at integrating a Google Search Appliance with XWiki. I see from the website that a Lucene integration has already been done. Has anyone explored integrating with Google to date? Any good lessons learned from the Lucene integration we should take into consideration?
Regards,
Rob Masson
