* to stop committing on the 5.4 branch today

Unless it fixes a flickering test :)

* work on fixing failing builds on the CI * release either this afternoon if all is ok or do it tomorrow morning * then once 5.4 final is released resuming committing on the 5.4 branch for the 5.4.1 release
