Without the configuration area and with some hint text, the area would look like: http://design.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/download/Proposal/WatchListButtonsonXE73/S... Hints could be added (as suggested by Guillaume) and maybe we could use a smaller (non standard) font-size in order to limit its size. Otherwise hitting the configuration anytime you would like to see notifications could be a discomfort. Depends what is our priority: reading or managing the notifications. Since there were no hints about the functionality, I've iterated providing more details about the configuration and hidding into a configuration, focusing on the notifications: *

We would be back to 2 clicks to find the watch state, which is too much IMO.

Hi,
I've added an iteration that adds switches to the Page/Hierarchy/Wiki watchlist/notifications activators and that display also the top notifs

Hi.
I've attached a mock-up of your idea there:

Some thoughts:
* the notification menu needs to be always displayed to access
the
watchlist actions, even if no real notification have been sent.
So we would need a kind of "new" icon close to the bell (or the count of unread notifications) when there is new notifications (like in facebook:
https://www.evernote.com/shard/s657/sh/117fb905-4cd4-4a63-a53d-fbfa5d975ed1/...
)
Yes, we'll need something like this.
* the actions are relevant to the current page, but are displayed
in a more
global menu. But we could also argue that they concern the notification area so it's ok and quite intuitive.
* it still need an extra-click to see the state of the page (but as before in the first Flamingo's version and Colibri) but it does not cost a lot (nothing compared to a modal box to open).
If everyone agrees, I can implement this way.
Thanks,
