I'm rather -0.5 right now, because: - "tomorrow" is never a good release date, as there is supposed to be a 72 hours rule - this is supposed to be the the last milestone in the 1.4 release cycle, but yet there are very few things resolved - mostly because currently there are some things half-done, which would require some more days to be fully fixed - I for one have been very busy with the SoC process since the first milestone, and had no time to review the commits done by others, nor to finish the things I started to work on, so I'd really like one more week to catch up Still, given that the first RC could be counted as a final milestone, I would be +0 with the M2 release on Monday. It wasn't clear to me anymore after : http://markmail.org/message/fasxfouud5v45rtx

Agreed.

Since 1.4M2 wouldn't be 1.4M2 without the XMLRPC update or SkinExtensions wdyt about releasing on April 22 (next tuesday). Here's my +1. Thanks, -- Jean-Vincent Drean

Still working on the XWIKI-1560, restructuring it after the chat we had yesterday. Hopefully it will be ready but not before the end of the day :( Cheers, Fabio

Is the new AllDocs page working now? I think we need to retest it before we release it. I'm volunteering for that since last time I tried there were a lot of problems. BTW JV, have you been able to apply Sergiu and my comments on Evelina's patch for AllDocs, like renaming usersandgroups.css since it's no longer about users and groups. I don't remember if there were other comments. I also think we maybe need to do some smoke tests about the new xmlrpc implementation and verify XEclipse continues working. WDYT? (has this already been done, after it's been committed? It's important to test after changes are made since they can break the original patch). I also think I've discovered a problem in the patch for redirects. The following isn't correct I think: XWiki xwiki; try { xwiki = XWiki.getXWiki(context); } catch (XWikiException e) { if (e.getCode() == XWikiException.ERROR_XWIKI_DOES_NOT_EXIST) { if (!sendGlobalRedirect(response, context.getURL().toString(), context)) response .sendRedirect(context.getWiki().Param("xwiki.virtual.redirect")); return null; } else { throw e; } } // Send global redirection (if any) if (sendGlobalRedirect(response, context.getURL().toString(), context)) { return null; } Since sendGlobalRedirect does a response.sendRedirect and we're doing another one in the catch... Thanks -Vincent

I checked that the new implementation with the patched version of the latest Swizzle worked with the current version of XEclipse. I didn't find any problem. But I will re-test it again. Cheers, Fabio

AFAIR I've applied all the recommendations except this one, I thought this could be part of the future js/css refactoring we'll have to do after the skinx commit.

sendGlobalRedirect doing a response.sendRedirect is very rare, in most of the cases (99.99%) it does nothing. Thanks, -- Jean-Vincent Drean

If it's a small change I'd rather we do it now. It's not good to introduce cruft in the hope that we'll fix it later... This is what got us to have a 6000+ XWiki.java class ;)

So are you're saying: screw the people who try to use the redirect feature for redirecting for non existing subwikis? :) I say let's fix it. I can do it, just wanted to make sure I understood correctly since I believe you applied that patch from Raff. Just let me know and I'll fix it. On a different topic, I don't think we should release 1.4M2 right now till we understand a bit better why it fails so miserably on myxwiki.org. It doesn't stay up for more than a day for some reason. At least we need to understand why and then we can take a call: release now and fix in RC1 or postpone the release a bit. WDYT? Thanks -Vincent

Just found that section editing is not working either... Strange I thought we had a test for this. Needs to be checked and fixed. -Vincent
I also think I've discovered a problem in the patch for redirects. The following isn't correct I think:
The reason is that before sending the client to an error message we look if there are no global redirection to handle the non-existing wiki.
Just retested and it's still not working for me. When I go in the filter for the Page column and start typing "Ser" I don't get anything filtered at all.
I'm not able to reproduce this one on my local install, investigations in progress.

Right, a late modification broke it, it should be fine now. Thanks, -- Jean-Vincent Drean

ok after talking to JV he's explained to me why it should be working. I had missed a not (!) in the code. So we don't have tests for it but it should be working fine... Sorry for the noise. [snip] Thanks -Vincent
