[xwiki-devs] New version of the Mobile App Code
Hi, I've made some progress on the mobile application code. Here is a demo of the application embedded in a page: http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Design/MobileClientDemoV2-201304?view=ip... More info about the Mobile app development http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Design/MobileClient What's new in this version is a refactoring of the code so that it's easier to write a screen in one block of code. This will help modularization and even will allow screens to be provided by the wiki on which you connect. This will be great to do "custom" experiences in the Mobile application, which is a lot what XWiki is about. Also some additional screens have been implemented: - configuration (which allows to add a wiki and store the config locally) - applications view - search view - improvements to the page view (links are working now, there is an open in safari button) We are getting closer to something releasable. What I believe is still necessary is: - the page list view needs to be improved - the buttons needs to be displayed properly - the page view should get some way to zoom/scroll correctly - the should be a way to paginate or ask for more results Any other comments of what blockers could be to make a v1 release are welcome. Hi, FYI, the embedded demo has been removed because it has the bad effect of auto login you on xwiki.org. You can instead download the zip and launch it on a local browser. You might need to allow AJAX calls from local code (on Safari Mac it works as is). Now I'm getting ready to publish an Android package for beta testing. Could a jira project be created to allow to report issues ? I'm not sure what name should be used ? Also if some of you would like to beta test the IOS build, then they can send me privately the UUID. Then I can add the UUID to the build to allow to install the package. To get your UUID here are the instructions: - Launch iTunes on your Mac. - Connect your device to your Mac. - In the upper-right corner, select the device. - In the Summary pane, click the Serial Number label under Phone Number. - The label Serial Number changes to Identifier and displays the device ID. - To copy the device ID, select Edit > Copy Identifier (UDID). - If the Edit menu contains a Copy Serial Number menu item, click the Serial Number label under Phone Number to change the menu item to Copy Identifier (UDID). - Paste the device ID in a document or email message. Hi, Could I get some advice about the name of the JIRA project to create for the Mobile project. I'd like to launch an Alpha version and for this I would need the jira project setup Ludovic
Hi, Well since we already had some different proposals and implementations, calling it "XWiki Mobile Application" (XMOBILE) would be bad IMO. So maybe we should have a naming policy just like we have for skins (with the bird names) and a prefix for what is supposed to be, "Mobile" linked, so something like: "XWiki [Name] Mobile Application" with the key "XM[NAME]", where [Name] could be anything (depending on the policy: cloud names [Alto, Nimbus], butterfly names [Argus, Morpho], etc.). Thanks, Caty On Mon, Apr 29, 2013 at 8:11 PM, Ludovic Dubost <[email protected]> wrote:

I'll handle the jira project creation in the Contrib category. I need to know: - the project pretty name - the id: XMMORPHO? (we don't use "-" in ids ATM) - the list of versions already released 1.0, 1.1, 1.2? - the version in development: 1.3? - This is a jira project for https://github.com/xwiki-contrib/mobile-standardxwikiclient right? Should this repo be renamed to a better name? BTW, as I commented on dev.xwiki.org, you should put all releases of this project on extensions.xwiki.org and not on dev.xwiki.org since this where we publish all our releases.
