I think we can follow 2 leads: 1) In your patched version of RC1, can you try creating a new page with accents and then delete/rename it? 2) I'd like to reproduce your problem. Could you give me more information about your setup (i18n setup, database and container) and possibly it would be nice if you could send me a XAR export of your wiki (not the whole thing, maybe only a few pages) so that I can try it here.
