Hi, here are some of my experiences with the emailnotification plugin. For the existing emailnotification plugin have a look at: http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/EmailNotification There you can follow the link to http://www.jkraemer.net/maven/xwiki/plugins/emailnotify-plugin/index.html where you find the download, install instructions, javadoc and more. I gave the Plugin a try, installed it like the docs said and it works, but has two drawbacks: 1) As Ludovic already wrote it needs better UI integration. Your personal subscriptions are saved as a object in your user page. - It is quite complicated for a user to manage. 2) The Plugin "forgets" the usersubscriptions if you restart tomcat unless every user explicitly saves his subscriptions-object (if this ist the right term) in his user page before the restart. I already contacted J Kraemer, the original author and he promised to have a look at it, but i got no reply yet. Sascha Cody Burleson schrieb:
Is there any documentation available on these plug-ins? Or, at present, do we need to just try to figure them out? Like where to get them, how to install them, how to administer them, and how to use them? I understand this is all open source, so this is certainly not a complaint! I am trying to do my part in documenting things as I learn for the good of all. I am just wondering if you have a few URLs or something that you can point me to for starters.

Subject Re: [xwiki-users] XWiki Email Watch or Notification?
This is very very usefull.. There is the email notification plugin but this one could be refactored into the Task Manager plugin which is a more general plugin.. The UI of the email notification could be improved, inspired by the Watch feature of Wikipedia

Is there a feature (perhaps somewhat hidden that I haven't noticed) that could allow users to "watch" for changes on content and recieve email notifications? If not, would this feature be useful to more than just myself? Would it be most appropriate as a plug-in or would it be best developed using scripting at the presentation layer?
