I think right now you can only use tags to achieve that. There used to be a way to turn tags into categories but I'm not sure that with the latest version of XWiki Enterprise you can still do that out of the box since tags have a new UI. I would appreciate some feedback. In January, we will begin two pilots using
XWiki and it would be helpful to know how to include categories. I expect that there is a way to do it (this feature is available in Workspaces after all).
I'm glad to hear that. Have you considered using XWiki Enterprise Manager to manage both wikis from a central place? Well, if you're willing to dive a bit into the code, creating a panel that would allow users to categorize a page using the tag objects for storage & removing the current tags interface would take less than a day for an experienced XWiki dev, a bit more if you're not familiar with XWiki development yet.
