Can you check: - that you have enough disk space left - that the file didn't reach the file size limit of your filesystem (4G for FAT) - that the file isn't locked by another program, like an antivirus - that the database is not in a bad state (use a mysql checking tool)

Thus this is coming from your MYSQL install IMO.
