can you try to add : ?useServerPrepStmts=false at the end of your connection url in hibernate.cfg.xml

I tried and it works.

It's a problem with ubuntu, i don't know why.

Me neither, but now that it works ... I will move the DB from my local system to a debian sarge server in a few weeks, maybe than no more fixes are required. Until then: I owe you.
