Indeed it won't allow to display lots of levels. I've made a quick test with a panel displaying pages in the current space: http://www.jean-vincent.org/xwiki/bin/download/Main/Screenshots/treeviewpane... I think this is usable with small-medium sized hierarchies. JV.
