Hi Jimmy,
-----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: mardi 14 novembre 2006 22:41 To: [email protected] Subject: [xwiki-users] xwiki build quesiton?
Hi,
I just got the latest snapshot from the public SVN site and try to build it via maven.
Cool you're the first users trying to do so! :-)
However I keep getting messages like the following: I am not sure if you guys have run into the same issue. Manually downloading the jars from these sites seems to be a daunting task.
Sure, they're not meant to be downloaded manually! I'd need to see a bit more of your console logs to see what repository your maven2 install is trying to download from. My guess is that it's not working because we changed the location of our custom repo yesterday. You probably got a snapshot of some days before which was still pointing at the old location. Try again with a snapshot from today and it should work fine.
I also tried to build via ant but I started to get class version mismatch error. Does xwiki require java 5 now? I am still using java 1.4.2
Yes right now XWiki does require 1.5 becuase exoplatform has switched to 1.5. See http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWIKI-374
My 3rd question is whether there are some feature descriptions of the latest public xwki? There is a feature list in xwiki.org but I am not sure if they are all available in a specific version. We need to show the available features in a stable version of xwiki to our clients before they choose xwiki.
I don't have an authoritative answer on this. I'll let other answers but you may want to resend an email with a different subject as others may miss this question hidden in this email... :-) Back to the Maven2 build: it's still a work in progress. For example the WAR that is created is still missing some dependencies and is not going to work. For now you should still use Ant to build XWiki. Thanks -Vincent
btw, I don't have any problem in building xwiki 0.9.841
Thanks!

Try downloading the file manually from the project website.
Then, install it using the command: mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=com.google - DartifactId=googleapi \ -Dversion=UNKNOWN -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file
Path to dependency: 1) com.xpn.xwiki:xwiki-core:jar:0.9-SNAPSHOT 2) com.google:googleapi:jar:xwiki:UNKNOWN
