Yes that's right. If a skin property is empty, XWiki will fall back on to the default templates or style sheet. Also, if there is no existing section in the skin object for the template you want to modify, you can simply add it by editing the skin class and creating a text area property with a name corresponding to the filename you want to override. When I go to Admin->Skins, the header, footer, etc. sections are empty – the only bit that is filled in is the stylesheet.
I want to "edit" the bit with the logo and the Parent > Page and the login/version information in it. Can I just copy and paste the appropriate code from templates/header.vm into this section?
