The scrolling-performance problem remains after installing the gtk2-engines-murring package. Where is the setting for enabling the cache? It's enabled by default, right? I'm pretty sure I haven't turned it off. Today, I upgraded to FF 3.0 ubuntu release, but no improvements. So, if this Firefox bug is known upstream, I guess it will be fixed soon.
