The office importer works fine for importing a document in one page with the "append result" option. You must choose the criterion for splitting, I think you have to select the heading level based on which the document should be split. If you pick H3 level and there are no H3 headers, I don't think the document would be split - at least this is how i remember. Hope this helps. - Asiri
