Hello, http://localhost:8080/xwiki should work, as "localhost" always means "this computer". In your case there might be some specific configuration on your computer that has changed that (though I must say I'm no expert). It's perfectly normal that http://myserver:8080 redirects to http://myserver:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ . First url is kind of a short notation, that redirects you to the "correct" (full length) url of your wiki homepage. Br, Jeremie 2012/11/9 novnovice <[email protected]>
Thanks Marius. The log showed that it did successfully start. But the path the log showed was http://myserver:8080, and that path does resolve as xwiki.
The instructions at http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Products/InstallationGuide say to nav to http://localhost:8080/xwiki, and that is what didn't work. This seems kind of strange to me, since after I browse to http://myserver:8080, xwiki takes me to http://myserver:8080/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
Isn't this a loose end?
