update: I was able to build from source after placing my junit jar into $ANTHOME/lib, as described in your dev guide. So now this is my only question:

if I start using this patched version will I go down an un-upgradable branch of code and hose my content when I upgrade next?

I ask b/c I don't think I see this code in svn HEAD. Maybe I'm off-base tho. thanks! Ken
