Well, assuming you only want to ensure registration before modification/access (allowing users to register themselves), then: 1) Go to your Global Permissions. To do this, either 1a) or 1b) is followed, depending on your Xwiki Version (xwiki.com wiki instances are a bit different, but will follow the concept of either 1a, or 1b for the most part). 1a) If you're using XWiki10B1/2/3; then you login as administrator and select the Administration link under the logout link (top right hand corner). Click on Global Permissions; and click "Add Access Right Entry". Under "Groups" select XWikiAllGroup (this is automatically updated with new users names as they are added); "Level" set to "view", "Allow-Deny" set to "Allow"; and click the "Save & View" button. NOTE: This will require all unregistered users to REGISTER before even seeing the wiki main page. You can alter the "Level" to "Edit", "Comment", etc to change your restrictions. 1b) If you're using a previous version (eg 0.9.840), I'm afraid this is a bit sketchy (been awhile), but you should be able to figure out from the following: Click on "More Actions", "Global Access Rights". Click on the "Add Permission Object" link. Type under "Groups" the text "XWiki.XWikiAllGroup". This is CASE SENSITIVE. Type under "Access Levels" the text "view" Make sure you've indicated under Allow/Deny to "Allow" **Users will still see the "Register" link. -----Original Message----- From: Adel Aneiba [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 31 January 2007 11:01 To: [email protected] Subject: [xwiki-users] Adminstration Option in the main page Dear All, How can i prevent any wiki user from accessing and modifying my wiki unless he was registred already Regards, Adel -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [xwiki-users] xwiki : loading pages problem (31-Jan-2007 10:11) From: Julien Oix <[email protected]> To: [email protected]
hi everyone,
I managed to deploy successfully a xwiki with Apache/Tomcat/mod_jk container thanks to this help (http://mail-archive.objectweb.org/xwiki-users/2007-01/msg00179.html :)
after configuration for needs, I notice that browsing the wiki with firefox and the "html validator" extension :
** loading a page entirely needs much time (the content is loaded immediatly but the loading icon runs a few seconds before stopping).
** the html validator extension tells me that "html cache is empty", it can't analyse errors and warnings.
** this doesn't happen on the login page, only on pages with content, accessible after logon.
Could it be a Apache user's permission problem ?
Anything else ?
Thanks.
