after apt-getupdate and apt-get dist-upgrade and a reboot, ran through the distribution wizard on first login, no errors seen, but the front page looked like http://pasteboard.co/1ZhrOEed.png
I followed "The wizard fails to appear at startup" on http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/DistributionWizard and deleted the .../jobs/status/distribution/status.xml file, then restarted, the distribution wizard was not seen, but the "pages" are now working again
