[xwiki-users] Deleted users not staying deleted

Weird little problem. I am trying to purge my xwiki of a lot of users who have left. But when I delete the user, go to another part of the XWiki and come back to the users page, all my deletions are magically back. I'm logged in as Admin. Any ideas? Sam
