[xwiki-users] attaching a file directly from the server (without using form upload as in attachmentinline.vm)

Is it possible to attach a file directly from the server to an xwiki document? For example, in my case I run a batch of PDF reports overnight (using the Quartz scheduler). I would prefer to be able to attach this generated file directly to an xwiki document for the user to access the details as needed. The only problem is I can't seem to find any way to do this. Is this possible to do?
