[xwiki-users] Access rights
Some strange things with access rights: to read a blog entry, user must have an admin rights. Otherwise XWiki displays a message "Topic XWiki.ArticleClassSheet does not exist". I know I did something wrong, but don't know what :). Maybe any ideas? Ar cieņu, Mihails

This is not correct.

My take is that you've forbidden standard users from reading documents in the XWiki space... -Vincent
But even if give view/edit rights to this group on all spaces and in global rights too, I receive the same message. Only admin right allows a simple user to read blog entry. I'd suggest you try with a non-modified version of XE and see if you get the same problem. I've just tested with a clean version and it works fine -Vincent

I already have a test version, which is modified the same way - and all is ok. Maybe you could tell conditions when this message is displayed, and where to look for its code (what *.vm). No idea. You could do a search in the source code or on http://fisheye.xwiki.org -Vincent

Well I guess this is the message you'll get if you've removed that page... :) -Vincent

Removed? Then why I can access it with admin rights? It seems that XWiki.ArticleClassSheet exists only in admin mode? That's very very strange :D Quoting Vincent Massol : /**/ On Jan 11, 2008, at 5:28 PM, Vincent Massol wrote: On Jan 11, 2008, at 5:24 PM, Mihails Agafonovs wrote: I already have a test version, which is modified the same way - and all is ok. Solved! For space XWiki I gave edit&view - > allow right. Thought it would allow them to edit and view :). Now I've removed this access right and... it works! But anyway it's strange: I allowed editing, thus disallowing anything. Hi, I've seen something similar here. Please, is it possible to get an explanation for this behaviour? Just to avoid to panic if we get back this kind of issue :-) Thanks!!! -- Ricardo Rodríguez Your XEN ICT Team

Hi,
I've seen something similar here. Please, is it possible to get an explanation for this behaviour? Just to avoid to panic if we get back this kind of issue :-)
I don't understand the problem. All you need to do is let all users or all registered users have view rights on the XWiki space (since pages from the xwiki space are included in other pages). Re the removal, I don't know, maybe the document is simply in cache and that's why it works for some time. Thanks -Vincent

Cache is frequently the answer, even more while working with Safari. This entry recall me some kind of problem I've had here and wasn't able to find the reason. I'm not able to reproduce it myself now, thus I'll keep this thread posted if find the right combination of facts leading to a behaviour similar to the one Mihails has described.
