[xwiki-users] WSIWYG not complete
When I select the WYSIWYG editor several components are missing in all browsers I've tried. This is a new install of 5.6 on CentOS. Bill Vlahos
There’s no such thing as XWiki 5.6 :) Thanks -Vincent On 24 Jan 2014 at 01:54:25, Bill Vlahos ([email protected](mailto:[email protected])) wrote:

What components are missing? Note that not all features that you see on http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/WysiwygEditor are enabled by default. You can enable them from the Administration. There's a section dedicated to the WYSIWYG editor. See http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/WysiwygEditor also. Hope this helps, Marius On Fri, Jan 24, 2014 at 2:54 AM, Bill Vlahos <[email protected]> wrote:

Sorry. It is version 5.3. Sorry about the typo. I'll have to enable those features. Any idea why the default configuration doesn't enable them? It seems like a lot of work to turn them on. Is this the only thing to change? displayTabs change to true in "wysiwyg_storeConfig" in templates/macros.vm? Because we want the users to focus on the content, not on the formatting / styling.
It seems like a lot of work to turn them on.
Did you check the administration section dedicated to the WYSIWYG editor?

What version of XWiki are you using? Since 3.0 we have an administration section for the WYSIWYG editor so you don't have to change any Velocity template. Just go to the administration, click on the WYSIWYG section and add the plugins and toolbar features you need. Hope this helps, Marius

We have Enterprise 5.3. There is no WYSIWYG section. That's what I'm missing and why I asked about the displayTabs value. All I can change is the default editor between Text and Wysiwyg. That is in your user profile not in the wiki administration. I was talking about http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Administration+Applicat... (bundled by default). Do you have administration rights on your wiki? On the "Home" top level menu you should have an entry "Administer Wiki". Hope this helps, Marius

We did a complete reinstall and this time everything installed correctly and is complete. I do have another question regarding Marius' terrific looking Diagram extension. As you point out in the notes there is an issue with displaying a diagram after the editing is done. Parts of the diagram are missing. You talk about switching from mxUtils.getXml() to mxUtils.getPrettyXml() to fix the problem because the mxGraphModel root XML element isn't included. 1. How and where do I replace these? Are they on the xwiki server? 2. Once I replace them will a future update of Xwiki break it? If this is such a good thing why doesn't the recent version of Xwiki incorporate it? It has been over 6 months since you made the comment. The change I mentioned is included in the latest version, 1.0.4 so you just have to upgrade. Go to the wiki administration, Extension Manager, Add Extensions, and search for 'diagram'. You should get it in the list with an upgrade button. Hope this helps (and sorry for the late reply), Marius
