Changing user status should be made though a "gadget" above "Recent Activity" area, independent of it. Actually IMO it could not appear at all near "Recent Activity", but be included only inside User Profile. But we could have it in both areas too.
Yes, I didn't mean that it needed to be in the "Recent Activity" area because, as you said, it doesn't make sense. I was just wondering if it makes sense to put it in that page. Anyway, IMHO, a box/gadget to enter the user status should be included in the implementation. -Fabio
