ARRR... These Flashbacks.. can't control them... must resist.... 100%ACK
Eclipse runs perfectly when using the IBM JDK 64 bit plus increasing some Parameters to extreme values. Even works with Ganymede and Europa. http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
But it was a long way until I came to this solution. Anyway it is not a Problem to use the Sun JDK as the default development JDK as long as Eclipse itself runs on the IBM JRE.
I think this might be linked to nvidia drivers and as anyone knows, nvidia can't code drivers :) Agree... Even though 2 Monitor solution works better with proprietary than with open drivers or those shipped with Ubuntu.
but this is also a specific issue of FF because epiphany works fine... Anyway, this might be a shame to see people not using xwiki because of this :(
Mhh Konqueror and Opera do not suffer that much, but you will still notice it, depending on the Site structure/complexity. Meaning http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome is a little bit faster in scrolling than http://code.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ or http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Screenshots for instance
