Made a small user action chart for test purpose. It is not complete yet it may be a good start to help. http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/download/XWiki/ThibautDeveraux/b1lme15Annotat... PS : evaluation of UX relative importance of facts. About accidental comment deletion, it would be a rare case mainly linked with the fact I didn't not find how to write. Long text comments may also be a rare case. Being able to see evrything on the pannel (more than 5 comments, to many ~long texts) is a more probable case among the rares ones imo. Being able to see all the comments in the pannel (scroll, change pannel size in auto or cliking on more, etc. ) may be interesting. Finding out how to "Write a new comment" may be a big problem for user adoption. If it is not me who missed someting. ^_^ Changing the colors the colors, icones, text architecture... of the panel according to Caty mockup could help for a better UX, both for emotional (++percieved quality) and ergonomics (++easy to figure out things). 2009/9/9 Thibaut DEVERAUX <[email protected]>:
Also I deleted one existing anotation by accident clicking evrywhere on the panel and hitting the (-) button by accident.
So I felt terribly depressed ssince I wasn't able to restore it. (I'm exagerating a bit lol)
-- Is anybody able to delet other people anoations ?
-- When I deleted by accident an interesting anotation made by someone else, is it possible to restore it ?
-- Should the delete button easily accessible ? (there may be a reason to do it, it is your service design so I don't know)

-Tests on Firefox and IE.-
Hi Lucien
I tried to start a small test. I did not find how to add an annotation.
I tryed to underline a texte, then I've been looking for a button or someting to add an anotation. I didn't manage to find one. So I get in the texte editor, here neither I didn't find the way to add an anotation. Then I watched the Video on Vimeo. Yet on the video I did'nt manage to get it was done. Keyboard shortcut ?
When I want to create an anotation. Where can I find how to make it ?
Thanks
Thibaut

An annotation enabled test server will be available soon.
A test server is available here : http://annotations.devxwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Main/
