I am a student from india ,doing major in mathematics and computing, IIT Delhi . I am very keen to be a member of xwiki family. i am interested in the project :Improved wiki page history I have a strong backround in computer skills like java,c and web development related skills : html, css, javascript , jquery , sql , php. I have knowlwdge in matlab too. Please tell me if i need knowledge in other fields too for this project , as i like this idea and it's use in future aspects. Best regards, Arpit Goyal

You have to prove it ;) . You should start by downloading XWiki Exterprise and play with it, especially with the document versioning. Next you should set up your work environment. The best way to prove your skills is to fix a bug though, related to document versioning in this case. See jira.xwiki.org .

This Project aims to build a interactive system by which user can ask for any medical diagnosis and system will intelligently diagnose. Follow on open-mrs wiki<https://raxaemr.atlassian.net/wiki/display/RAXAJSS/Voice+Module+Project> page for more information of the project. i have developed a software which helps in forming school timetable ,and optimizing teachers timing so that there is no clash. check it on www.gofastschedule.com(this is the first ever experience in real time coding , i coded this single handily and as a result there are some design bugs). This is about my experience in real time application and open source. Actually my mid-sems for college is going on and i am putting all efforts to synch gsoc with my exams. As my mid sem will end on sunday and application proposals will start on monday midnight(as per the time here) , so i will only be able to show you , or prove myself to you that time. Regarding fixing bug , it require understanding of code and that requires time, i know that is not your concern but it is for me. so please tell me is it necessary to have a knowledge of the source code before hand or it can be worked on during the interval march26-may21. Regarding fixing bug , it require understanding of code and that requires time, i know that is not your concern but it is for me. so please tell me is it necessary to have a knowledge of the source code before hand or it can be worked on during the interval march26-may21.
You can of course do it in the application proposal period. What's important is that you make a pull request on GitHub by the end of the application period so that we can assert your coding skills when we evaluate your application. Hope this helps, Marius

If you need the code then i can mail it to you , but as it was my first time ever coding in real time application it is not of open source standard , because of poor documentation. Well it was a year before so now as i am very much aware of the importance of documentation and having a on-going experience of open-source coding.

If you need the code then i can mail it to you , but as it was my first time ever coding in real time application it is not of open source standard , because of poor documentation. Well it was a year before so now as i am very much aware of the importance of documentation and having a on-going experience of open-source coding.
Actually my mid-sems for college is going on and i am putting all
efforts
to synch gsoc with my exams. As my mid sem will end on sunday and application proposals will start on monday midnight(as per the time here) , so i will only be able to show you , or prove myself to you that time. Regarding fixing bug , it require understanding of code and that requires time, i know that is not your concern but it is for me. so please tell me is it necessary to have a knowledge of the source code before hand or it can be worked on during the interval march26-may21.
You can of course do it in the application proposal period. What's important is that you make a pull request on GitHub by the end of the application period so that we can assert your coding skills when we evaluate your application.

Hi arpit, Please see the first mail from Marius. Go to jira.xwiki.org and fix some easy bugs, preferably related to document history or document versioning. We want to see if you are able to understand what is going on in a small region of the project to the level where you are actually able to bring a positive contribution (fix something). Alternatively, or complementary to be more exact, you could host online the code you mentioned that you have previously worked on, since its open source license should allow that. We do not accept private mails with zipped code :) It does not matter that the code is old, we just want to have a look at it to make a general impression of your potential. As I said in my first reply, you should start by downloading XWiki Exterprise and play with it, especially with the document versioning. Next you should set up your work environment. See http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome .

Mr. Moraru , I have added my source code for the web application at https://github.com/agmps18/Fast-Scheduler . Please have a look at it , the documentation is very poor .If you want than i can write a document to help you understand the code. Basic files are for web designing related. What editor did you use? I'm curious because the source code is not very well formatted: lots of empty lines and an inconsistent alignment (I can see your editor inserted tabs instead of spaces, but even the number of tabs is not always consistent). Thanks for sharing the code, Marius

Notepad++. As i said previously ,that was my first ever coding experience in the real world and that time i was not aware of the coding standards. That time i was reading the readability and writabily of the code , so i try to make it formatted. But that project i build in 6 days and i did not pay attention to code formatting. Please see the first mail from Marius. Go to jira.xwiki.org and fix some easy bugs, preferably related to document history or document versioning. We want to see if you are able to understand what is going on in a small region of the project to the level where you are actually able to bring a positive contribution (fix something).
Alternatively, or complementary to be more exact, you could host online the code you mentioned that you have previously worked on, since its open source license should allow that. We do not accept private mails with zipped code :) It does not matter that the code is old, we just want to have a look at it to make a general impression of your potential.
