Hi All,
Since Monday, i have been constantly checking Nabble and www.xwiki.org for
news on the 1.1RC1 release.
On a lighter note, i feel like asking "Are we there yet" (kinda like the
donkey in Shrek) every few minutes :)
Is it just me? Coz i guess i need therapy in that case!
Looks like i am getting addicted to Xwiki...sigh...

How can I change another users password?
I see Vincent Massol's FAQ about this:
"logon as admin user, go to Admin -> Users -> Current users and select
the user you wish to reset the password for. When the User Profile
screen appears, click 'Edit this page'. This will allow you to enter a
new password."
But after I log in as Admin, find the users profile, and go into Edit
mode, all I see is "#includeForm("XWiki.XWikiUserSheet")" in Wiki &
WYSIWYG mode.
Using 1.0-beta-6.2657

Hi Ricardo,
Its picking the heading logo from the style sheet. Find the logo name and
grep it in the style sheets. You will find it.
Ravi.

Hi group,
I have few queries regarding Lucene(using in XWiki for search) though I am
not sure this is the right list for them.
* Is it possible to search for let's say A*. It seems Lucene is ignoring the
* and searching for A(probably for optimization).
Please note that other regular expression search works.
* Also how do I set a default field for searching in Lucene through
velocity?
Any help is much appreciable.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi, we're looking into using Xwiki to replace part of a large Microsoft
Exchange setup. The users email large (sometimes 50MB) attachments back and
forth to each other and in and out of the company, ballooning the size of
the Exchange database, making it too large, corruption-prone, unwieldy, and
nearly impossible to back up and/or restore. The fundamental problem with
using Exchange for this (beyond the fact that it doesn't provide all the
other inherent benefits of a wiki) is that it stores …
[View More]EVERYTHING -- email,
attachments, etc., all in one file. We're looking into doing an Xwiki setup
to prevent sending these attachments back and forth so much, but my limited
ability to audit Xwiki has resulted in me thinking that Xwiki does the same
(stores everything in one file/database). Is there any way to store pages
in individual files, more like Xwiki's progenitor, Twiki? Or at least for
attachments?
Thanks!

So
1) you uploaded your new image (say, "mylogo.png") and
2) you edited the skin page in object mode and changed logo.png with
mylogo.png, saved the page and it still does not work properly, right ?
if you're working on your own install you may want to look into
xwiki-enterprise-1.1-milestone-1-hsqldb\xwiki-enterprise-1.1-milestone-1\webapps\xwiki\skins\albatrossand
put your own logo there...

Hi everyone,
We're currently undergoing mailing lists migration. As you've
observed we've had some issues in the past and we're setting up a new
mailing list server and new lists.
We're automatically existing subscribers so you won't have anything
to do.
You'll just need to use the new lists when they're up.
We'll send more information real soon.
Thanks

Hi,
I am working on XWiki. Presently the search tool for searching in attachment contents is case sensitive .If I want to make it case insensitive, what changes I have to make in its code.
Here is the code for attachment content search in xwiki.
Search in attachment file content
#set($sql= ", XWikiAttachment attach, XWikiAttachmentContent as attachc where doc.id = attach.docId and attach.id = attachc.id and attachc.content like '%$text%' ")
#foreach ( $item in $xwiki.…
[View More]searchDocuments($sql , $nb , $start))
#if ($xwiki.hasAccessLevel("view", $context.user, "${context.database}:${item}"))
#set($bentrydoc = $xwiki.getDocument($item)) * [$bentrydoc.name>${bentrydoc.web}.$bentrydoc.name] by
$xwiki.getLocalUserName($bentrydoc.author) on $xwiki.formatDate($bentrydoc.date, $formatDate)
#end
#end
Thanks,
Anuj

Hi,
Just wanted to explain my current strategy for FAQs on xwiki.org.
Whenever I review FAQ pages I do the following:
1) Check if there's a page in the wiki that discusses the question
mentioned in the FAQ page
2) If there is, remove the FAQ content and instead link to that page.
If there were more information in the FAQ entry, move that
information to the page proper
3) if there isn't, then create a new page, in the user guide, dev
guide or admin guide and then go to step 2.
IMO …
[View More]this is the best strategy for the best of both world:
1) Have a comprehensive documentation
2) Prevent duplication
3) Still keep the FAQ entries so that people can find them easily
using google or the wiki search and then get directed to the relevant
documentation page.
All help is welcome!
Thanks
