[xwiki-users] [Proposal] Comparing XWiki to MediaWiki and Confluence on xwiki.org

Hi, Since we had users asking on the IRC what are the differences between XWiki and other solutions, it would be a good idea to provide such pages on the website: - XWiki and MediaWiki http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/XWiki-vs-MediaWiki - XWiki and Confluence http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/XWiki-vs-Confluence It would be great to know if you agree with the listed content and if you find other similarities or distinctions between the above solutions. [xwiki-users] strip accents from page name used in url

Hi, I’m using XWiki in Slovak language which uses accents, which consequently causes problems with urls. The urls becomes ugly containing encoded characters with accents. Does XWiki have integration point out of the box to replace the page name with custom one, with stripped accents from it? Thank you Mirec

[xwiki-users] rerun distribution wizard

I have recently upgraded from 3.5 to 5.5. The upgrade went fine however after logging in I accidentally hit the cancel button instead of the skip. I now want to rerun the Distribution Wizard but I cannot figure out how to re-trigger it. Can this be done?

[xwiki-users] Menu crashes if changed by a non admin user (see menu application extension)

Hi Xwiki Team, it seems as if there is a small bug in the "Menu Application"extension (version 8.2). Every time a user, that is not in the XWikiAdminGroup, does some changes on the menu page in edit mode, the menu crashes and is no longer visible. To fix that an admin user of XWikiAdminGroup has to edit and save the page. It is important that a small change has to be done by the admin user. Best regards Alina

[xwiki-users] Integrate bpmn-js into xWiki

Hello! I'm trying to integrate bpmn-js into my xWiki application. I istalled bpmn-js via bower into xWiki resource folder and then i created a page with this content: When the page loads (and the javascript libs are imported) I get some errors about prototype.js and requirejs (http://pastie.org/9946255). [xwiki-users] Advice needed for new XWiki Enterprise 7.4.4 Setup

Hello Everyone, I have managed to install XWiki Enterprise v.7.4.4 and have a few questions before really getting started. There are a few things that are unclear to me. Here is an overview for what it will be used for: We have several teams: Computer Support, Sales, Warehouse, QA, Ops/Development, Office Administration. XWiki will be used as a knowledge-base for known issues, procedures and file hosting. We want to have everyone be able to search for and create new pages/articles in any wiki except for Office Administration and perhaps 1 other. Also, for example, you are in the "Support" wiki and perform a search - we want search results from content in the "Warehouse" wiki to be included in the results. 1. Would you recommend that I create a "Wiki" for each department? 2. When creating the user accounts, should I create them while in the "Home" wiki (which is called Home by default installation), or am I doing that incorrectly? I am logged in as the Admin user and going to Administer Wiki > Users and Groups > Users > Add New User. 3. When installing extensions/applications - should I "Install" or "Install on farm"? I'm not quite sure what the "farm" is. Is it the Sandbox? I ask because I tried to create a "new Wiki" and it is like I have to start from scratch again and create those user accounts in that wiki as well and adjust any cosmetic changes, changes to the skin, applications/extensions. 4. As easy as it seems, I am having a very difficult time with the Panels Wizard. I have several other questions, but feel I shouldn't ask them until the above are answered. Any help would be greatly appreciated. [xwiki-users] setting a fixed domain name?

Hello XWiki experts, I've been struggling with an XWiki bundled with jetty for which I can't set anything similar such as a VHost. Unfortunately, I cannot put a ProxyPassReverse (or ProxyPreserveHost) at the Apache level for lack of a plugin thus all redirects are expressed to localhost. My wiki is not intended to be used virtually. This used to be a non-problem since Tomcat had an adjustment to add this. Now that I am with Jetty, I am lost and it looks like neither XWiki nor Jetty does not have a setting to fix a domain name. Can it be? thanks in advance. Paul

[xwiki-users] Configuring CKEditor Plugins

Hi, How do I add the font color option to the WYSIWYG editor (CKEditor)? I included the plugin color in Wiki Administration -> Applications -> WYSIWYG Editor and added color to toolbar, but it doesn't show up. Similarly I added the plugins font and justify, and added them to the toolbar, but they don't show up either. Thanks

[xwiki-users] exception during page deletion

When users deletes a page I get and page saying that I should wait until page is deleted. I check browser console and I see 500 response from xwiki and nothing happens. If I go to some parent page, I see that page is deleted. Checked xwiki log and see an exception: https://gist.github.com/edvorg/9519c5055011ecdb319f6dcbdee39a76 does anybody know why could it happen?
