Hello everyone,
I have a livetable build like every livetable :
#livetable("allapps" $collist $ colprops $options)
My livetable is built using a class and one of the field of this class is
"state".
This field can have three value : "new", "in progress", "closed".
I want to put a background color for each line depending of this field
"state".
I want the background colors like this :
- "new" -> background color = green
- "in progress" -> background color = orange
- "closed" -> background color = red
Is there a possibility to define this somewhere ? And if yes, where exactly
? In the options of my livetable ?
I hope this possibility exists because I really need it.
Have a good day,
Stéphanie

Hi Guys,
hopefully im doing right sending a mail to this list with my problem.
Actually i got 2 Problems but if i can solve one the other will be gone :)
One is die LDAP connection and the other is the debugging/logging function.
Unfortunately i can't login with the AD users and i don't even know if
there is a connection to the server.
I wasted a day trying to get the debugging/logging enabled but it
seems im to stupid for it :)
enabled LDAP Debug Log with the log4j.properties file in
WEB-INF/classes without success.
log4j.logger.com.xpn.xwiki.plugin.ldap=trace
log4j.logger.com.xpn.xwiki.user.impl.LDAP=trace
but somehow i cant find a log or information about ldap.
do i have to configure something else or add some information to the xwiki.cfg?!
any help is appreciated.

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of
XWiki Commons, XWiki Rendering, XWiki Platform, XWiki Enterprise and
XWiki Enterprise Manager 3.2.1.
This is the first and probably last bugfix release of the 3.2 series,
with no new features, and a few bugfixes and minor improvements. One
important change is the way relative references in an included document
are resolved, reverting back to the pre-3.0 behavior. See
http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-7382 for more details.
Other areas with several bugfixes are support for Oracle databases, the
rending engine, the WYSIWYG editor, and the Activity Stream.
See the full release notes at

for more details.
Note: The binaries for this release aren't listed on the Download page,
but they can be obtained directly from our maven repository [1] or the
OW2 forge download area [2].

Hi All,
We are very pleased to inform you that we packaged our map solution,
Just Map It!, as a XWiki extension.
This extension shows an interactive map of wiki pages and tags for any
XWiki space.
It is divided in 2 components :
- a REST addon that exposes the wiki pages and tags of a given XWiki
space
- a xar package that contains a velocity macro and the Just Map It!
flash client.
The map is generated on a dedicated Just Map It! server, which get the
necessary data by calling the REST service installed by the extension.
We worked with the Xwiki team on a snapshot of the xwiki.org extension
website (http://extensions.xwiki.org)
A demo is available at http://dev.social-computing.com:8280/xwiki/
An authentication is required :
- login : demo
- password : scdemo
This demo displays a map of all available xwiki extensions linked by the
tags that were assigned by extensions developers.
It gives a good overview of all existing extensions and the relations
between these extensions.
Additional navigation actions are proposed to the users on the map :
- Center on one particular item
- Show all the extensions that contain a specific tag
- Display the wiki page of an extension or a tag
Another map is generated on a each tag's wiki page.
This map shows the tags that are close to the selected one.
We would very much appreciate your feedbacks and advice on how to make
the map available to all xwiki.org users on the extensions website.
For more information on Social Computing and on our map solution Just
Map It!, please visit our website : http://www.social-computing.com (in
french, shortly in english!)
You can also play with the Just Map It! feeds web application :

The XWR_COMMENT column is only 255 characters; however, xwiki is trying to assign to this column the text:

Either the comments needs to be truncated, or the column should be defined as a CLOB.
It turns out that the annotation is saved -- when the page is reloaded, the text is highlighted and the annotation text is available.

Hi,
I have just tried to get my Xwiki version updated from 3.1.1 to 3.3.
For some reason as I've posted about I had major errors in the upgrade
process from 2.x over to 3.1.1 as my admin panel went funny after the
upgrade.

I am running Tomcat6 with Postgresql. A quick google yielded to the same
error but with Oracle DB which gave this as a fix:
<property name="hibernate.connection.SetBigStringTryClob">true</property>
<property name="hibernate.jdbc.batch_size">0</property>
I'm wondering if it's the same for postgres???
I will atempt to include the statements but I believe I will need to
restore my Xwiki instance from my backups at this current moment in time!

Hi XWiki users,
In 2009 we ran a survey on xwiki.org asking you to vote on features you'd like to see implemented in the XWiki project.
2.5 years after, here's a rundown of how many of those were actually implemented and what's left to do.
Since we're finishing the XWiki Enterprise 3.x cycle (XE 3.5 will be the last release of this cycle) we're going to start deciding what the 4.x cycle will contain. The idea is to run a new survey on xwiki.org asking you again to vote on features you'd like to see. This survey should be published in a few days. I'll send another mail when it is.
So here are the results:
http://bit.ly/yjDPge
As you can see roughly 50% of the features were implemented in 2.5 years. It's both good and bad. There were a lot of features asked (close to 100). We also implemented a lot more other features that were not listed. At least you can see we're listening since a lot of features that made it were features asked! :) Of course we can always do better.
For example we missed the implementation of the multipage export even though we spent a substantial time designing it and discussing it on the list. Let's hope it can make it in the 4.x cycle now!
Feel free to let us know in this thread how you feel about what was implemented and what you'd like to see in the 4.x cycle.
Thanks a lot

Hello Everyone-
I have two basic requests that I need help on.
I have installed xwiki (war file) on Jboss app server and made LDAP
authentication for editing purposes.
(1) How can I add additional layer of security for certain pages only for a
specific LDAP sub-group (security group).
(2) What do I need to do to have the capability of importing MS Office
documents directly into Xwiki. It is error out stating Open Office Plug-in
server is not running. I do have Open Office installed and updated the
config file.
Greatly appreciate the help!
Let me explain you.
1) We have a "MyTests.TestClass" class which contains a unique field "date"
of type "date".
2) The current document have a single object of type "MyTests.TestClass".
You can set whatever you want for the value of the field "date".
3) The current document code is:
{{velocity}}
= History =
#set($revs = $doc.getRecentRevisions(10))
#foreach($rev in $revs)
#set($oldDoc = $doc.getDocumentRevision($rev))
#set($prop =
$oldDoc.getObject('MyTests.TestClass').getProperty('date').getValue())
== Rev : $rev ==
* Class: $prop.class.name
* Value : $prop
#end
= End History =
{{/velocity}}
4) Do some edit in order to have something to display in the history
5) Here are my results:
History
Rev : 17.1
Class: java.sql.Timestamp
Value : 2012-12-10 00:00:00.0
Rev : 16.1
Class: java.util.Date
Value : Mon Dec 10 00:00:00 CET 2012
Rev : 15.1
Class: java.util.Date
Value : Mon Dec 10 00:00:00 CET 2012
6) The problem is that the field "date" is a java.sql.Timestamp for the
current version but then become a java.util.Date.
Is it normal ?
Turns out all my wiki problems with disappeared attachment, scripts not
running, etc were down to partition /var running out of disk space! So moved
default locations of apache tomcat and mysql to a much bigger partition
using symbolic links to link to the new locations and now all seems well.
Should have checked the obvious (disk space) first! So if anyone else gets
strange behaviour with xwiki - check your disk space first and save yourself
a lot of time and hassle chasing down these 'problems'!

Yes its strange,
This has happened since migrating from version 2.7 to 3.2. The import of the
wiki pages via Exported xar files seemed to work ok, and the attachments are
listed at the bottom of the wiki pages, butwhen you cick on them to view the
attachments the wiki displays aa error message that the "The attachment does
not exist."
Has anyone any idea what's happened and how to fix it?
Thanks.

Richard

Hi Richard,
Are you talking about the standard Attachments tab at the bottom of a wiki
page? Does it happen all the time? You should get this only if the session
expires. See
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/ReleaseNotes/ReleaseNotesXWikiEnterprise
32#HCSRFpreventionisenabledbydefault
. In XWiki Enterprise 3.2 CSRF has been enabled by default. I haven't heard
any complains so far, at least not related to the attachments upload form.
Hope this helps,
Marius

Hello everyone,
I use the xwiki syntax for sending mails, by using this way :
[[john(a)smith.net>>mailto:john@smith.net]]
But I was wondering if there is a possibility to add an object on the mail
by this way and how is it possible ?
Thank you for your future answer.
Have a good day,
Stéphanie

Hi All,
I am having an odd issue with the panel wizard in my test and prod
instances of XWiki. The users are trying to click on "Panel Wizard" via
"Administer this Wiki" and the system spikes to 25% CPU but never yields
results. Later, they try again, another 25% CPU and no results....
ultimately they keep trying until I start getting administrative alerts
that the system is overwhelmed. To recover, I need to stop/start the
application. However, that only allows the application to function until
they do the same thing again. This is a critical task for them to add the
necessary navigation to their wiki.
Anyone had a similar experience?
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further?
Thanks,
Chris
Thanks - turns out unregistered user weren't granted rights on the actual
page itself.

Hello Richard,
In XWiki there are 3 types of Rights/Permissions. Check
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/RightsManagement
My guess is that in the Global Rights Menu (found in Administration ->
Rights) you have selected the "Prevent unregistered users from viewing
pages, regardless of the page or space rights". You have to uncheck this box
(no check mark).
This should solve your issue

Hi,
Anyone know why when I try to display the wiki webhome for the Main space
for an unregistered user the login is displayed even though the space rights
are set to allow unregistered users to be able to view anything in the Main
space?

Hi all,
I am making a database where each page can have multiple 'levels' of
data, each next level should be shown to the user only when a
condition has been met, say:
1: general information
- Question
- Needs additional research: yes/no
2: additional research (only shown if applicable):
- Researcher
- Findings
My initial idea was to use seperate classes and create a combined
class sheet, like in the code below, but I suspect that will give
difficulty for instance when creating overviews in a Livetable.
Does anyone have experience in uses like this? Thanks for your ideas!
Joris
#set($class1 = $doc.getObject('Example.Class1').xWikiClass)
#foreach($prop in $class1.properties)
..
#end
if($class1.properties.needsadditionalresearch=="yes")
#set($class2 = $doc.getObject('Example.Class2').xWikiClass)
#foreach($prop in $class1.properties)
..
Hi all,
I have xwiki setup done on machine A with custom setting like log changed,
user, group and space rights settings .Also had space contents/attachment.
Now i did the fresh installation of xwiki on new machine B..What i wanted
was every setting, content, attachment i created on machine A xwiki
database should be migrated to machine B xwiki database.
**
*What i did for this is :-*
1) On machine A, as admin user navigated to export. It asked me package
name and description. I entered the value in that and it created a
A.xar file.
2)Now after xwiki installation i.e after extracting *
xwiki-enterprise-web-3.3.war* inside tomcat on machine B, i navigated to
import and imported A.xar file. Now i log in as admin user.
*Actual Problem*
Now i see the main space webhome page on machine B different from machine
A main space webhome page.Like under space i see this error Unknown macro:
spaces The "spaces" macro is not in the list of registered macros. Verify
the spelling or contact your administrator. Same error is there for
Tags. Also i do not the setting i did on default colour theme like i changed
the logo. Though i can see all the previous user, group ,space rights and
content.
*Not getting what i am missing here?*
To all,
We want to replace our existing Intranet with XWiki.
Our current Intranet is a bunch (100's) of HTML pages with text and
hyperlinks.
Can we import/convert our existing Intranet pages to XWiki?
If so, which steps should we take?
Of is this impossible and should we just create XWiki pages by hand?

One of the use cases I have for my wiki is storing 'issues', where
each issue should have a serial number consisting of year + subsequent
number.
I was thinking about a script like this, but one of the problems is:
there is no 'while' function in Velocity.
How would you create a form for this? Thanks for your ideas!
Joris
#set($space="Issues"}
#set($template="AppSpace.IssueTemplate")
#set($parent=$space.WebHome)
#set($year= ${xwiki.formatDate($datetool.date, 'yyyy')})
#set($partID="0"
#set($genericID=$space"."$year)
#while($xwiki.exists($space.$issueID'')
{
#set($partID=$partID+1)
#set($issueID=$year"-"$partID)
}
#if(!$xwiki.exists($issueID) && $xwiki.hasAccessLevel('edit',
$context.user, $issueID))
$response.sendRedirect($xwiki.getURL($ID, 'inline',
"template=$template}&parent=$parent"))

Hello xwiki community !
Since a long time, I work on a MailArchive application, and try to find time
to post it to the community ...
It's used in my team and is satisfying, but as I'm working on it currently I
think it's time to unveil what to expect from it, and have your feedbacks
before I (eventually) post a first version ...
What's implemented so far :
- "eats" mails from specified mail server / account / folder
- creates Mails and Topics pages and objects in wiki. Algorithm for topics
tries to be "hijack-proof" ;)
- Custom Livetable and timeline view for archive, table/threads/forum views
for topics
- persists main parts of mails (html content, main headers, attachments,
attached mails, images, detects encrypted mails), with a clean display
- configurable mailing-lists (independant of mail server) upon pattern
matching, with auto-tagging of created pages
- statistics page (top posters, ...)
What I would like to implement before first release :
- reply button and sheet
- configurable auto-typing of mails (for example,
Mail/Newsletter/Annoucement ...) (it already exists but it's hard-coded ...)
- test it with other server than exchange (ie gmail at least)
- configurable ldap integration : auto-creation of mail users from ldap (by
matching emails). Already implemented but not inside the app itself. It's a
very cool feature for enterprise level mailing-lists. Real users are also
automatically assigned as mails/topics authors/creators in wiki pages, as
well as mail dates.
- remove everything that's hard-coded and dependent of our usage - put more
simply, make it generic.
What I expect to add in next releases :
- multi-mail-server configuration
- improve admin pages
- ratings
- for now it dumps mails from a folder, meaning it does not act as a mail
server by itself. This means that some common features are not available
(validation of mails ...). For now it's more a simple dumped "clone" of a
mailing-list, but it does not interact with users / mails.
Some open questions / remarks:
- considering last point, I don't know how mailing-lists and mailing-lists
archives do work (ie xwiki-users and robot, nabble ...), so I don't really
know how I could implement such features inside xwiki, or even if it would
be something useful for users ... For now the whole application is a XAR and
I don't want to bring too much complexity to it. Anyway I'd like to keep
both functionality.
- for "reply" feature, I assume to use the global mail server configuration
parameters of the wiki, and the email from connected xwiki user profile
("from"). To simplify I would ask user for his password when he clicks on
"send" (and the form is valid), because depending on mail server configured,
you might need to be authentified to send a mail. There could be an option
to use or not the xwiki login for credentials. I don't know what 'd be the
better for this ... Maybe I should add specific configuration for outgoing
mail server in mail archive app ? Of course with a "real" mailing-list (with
a robot), you don't have this kind of problem as I believe it acts as a mail
server itself (kind of proxy).
Feel free to comment, manifest your enthusiasm (or your un-interest :) ) ...
Jeremie
