[xwiki-users] Can't get XEM application xar imported in XEM 1.6

Hello, I'm trying to set up XEM on a new machine. I put the XEM WAR file under the webapps folder of my tomcat installation. Created the MySQL database, just like i used to do with the XE installations I performed so far, and set the rights as specified in the installation section of the AdminGuide. After starting tomcat the database was created and everything else looked fine. However, whatever i do everything is redirected to the page http://example.com:9080/xwiki/bin/Main/ThisWikiDoesNotExist I'm probably overlooking something really simple, anyways, can one of you please enlighten me on how to get the XEM XAR loaded? [xwiki-users] Performances issue

Hello all, Since i upgraded my 1.7.1 to 1.8 (rc2 and now final) the display is really much faster than before. My problem is that when i browse my wikis, the navigation goes more and more slower. Then i have to close the window and reopen a new one (i would say after getting into approximately 40/50 pages in view and/or edit modes) When it's slow, after clicking, only a part of the window is displayed, the CPU load is at 100% and when the page is fully displayed the load goes back to normal average. We use IE 6.0 SP2 in a Windows XP Pro SP2. I know that IE is not the best and so on but unfortunately, we cannot change it for any other browser. Can it be only because of the browser ? Hi, I refreshed my xwiki install with a 1.8 release instead of the 1.8rc2. Hi, That's my first training on xwiki ; I got a pb. I downloaded xwiki enterprise and installed it as a Tomact 5.5 webapp, with MySQL DB. I login as Admin. I have added 2 new users ; it's sure cause I can login these users ; but I don't see them by the category "users" from xwiki preferences In fact, I got a page where it is written "Displaying rows from 1 to 3 out of 3" (which is right) but the array is empty. What's wrong with me ? [xwiki-users] How to enable xwiki syntax selection on wiki important from older versions?

Hi, I have imported a xWiki xar into xWIki version 1.7.1, and have it configured to support multiple syntax types. Basically the setting for the possible syntax choices is the same as on another wiki where I imported the defaul xar from scratch. But in the wiki where I imported the old data, I cannot change the syntax of my pages. There simply is no selector for the syntax. What can I do? [xwiki-users] pdf export problems on Ubuntu/Debian style systems with system-standard tomcat

Hi, I have the same problem as already described here: http://www.mail-archive.com/users@xwiki.org/msg06053.html It's most defintely due to the fact that /usr/share/... on Debian/Ubuntu is owned by root, but tomcat running as a different user. But there was not final solution mentioned in this previous thread. Also, here are some hints that some varaibales could be set for the fop-library: http://www.nabble.com/FOP-.94-Fonts-td17386501.html So, I could try to set the fop config variable "cache-file" But how and where should I set them? [xwiki-users] strange behaviour of editors

Hi, I started testing XWiki Enterprise 1.7.2.16857 and have decided to only use the xwiki/2.0 syntax. Therefore I changed the appropriate entry in xwiki.cfg: xwiki.rendering.syntax = xwiki/2.0 Then I restarted XWiki and all worked well (Wiki and WYSIWYG mode). I think the syntax name was shown in the right column. That was yesterday. Today the behaviour has changed. The syntax name isn't shown in the right column. I get the old WYSIWYG editor. In Wiki mode the 2.0 syntax isn't recognized. Instead I have to use the 1.0 syntax. What has happened? Is there any solution? Also I have a problem with the WYSIWYG editors. I would expect to create standard wwiki syntax using it (e.g. "1 header" or "= header"). Instead HTML code like "<h1>header</h1>" is created? Why? I have checked all FAQ without success. The mail archives weren't searchable. Jens

My old blog entries have been migrated and I can created new entries. But when I go to the Blog/WebHome page ( http://www.antoniogoncalves.org/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/WebHome) I get the following text showing instead of the list of entries : #preparePagedViewParams($totalEntries 10) $xwiki.jsx.use($blogScriptsDocumentName) 1.1 Create a new post Do you know if I need to do something special to make this page work and get the 10 last entries of my blog ? Hello All, I am working on calendar application & I had seen the calendar in the link http://playground.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/EventCalendar?month=5 I personally feel this calendar needs a lot of modifications & a lot of new features to be implemented. Presenting my ideas for the new & modified calendar I need some help on the implementation of these ideas. My ideas are: - 1. I had seen that page reloads when someone wishes to go to next month calendar I think this should not be there. The application should be made such a way that it should open the next month calendar without loading which can be implemented using Javascript very easily. - 2. The topic of event should be available on the date itself as a background of date column. This can be implemented very easily & is very useful too. It can tell the user events on that date just by watching the calendar. - 3. When the user moves his mouse over the image column the column should enlarge with different background color & will show the details of events on that day. Implementing this using Ajax. - 4. Calendar should import all the events from the wiki & user can modify & delete that event if he wishes. This would be done in a very user friendly manner using Ajax if the browser supports else just by form submission method. - 5. Modifiable themes & CSS option should be there so user can modify the calendar as he wishes. - 6. Calendar should be like a gadget which can be placed anywhere on the page. - 7. Last but not the least multilingual support should be there. This will be the important part of the calendar application. Working on this project I think I can implement the ideas 1-5 ,but in 6th & 7th idea I need help. I don`t know how to make calendar like a gadget & how one can provide multilingual support where events can be placed in different languages. Hi I think you have to change JAVA_OPTS in the script to start the server. [xwiki-users] TOC not displaying properly

Hi xwiki-users, When I try the following in a page: = Level 1 {{toc start=1 depth=3 numbered=false scope=page /}} == Level 2a === Level 3a === Level 3b == Level 2b === Level 3c [Level 2b] does not "untab" itself in the TOC. This only happens when there are 2 or more children preceding the parent's siblings (i.e. if [Level 3b] did not exist, this would work properly). Hello again, Here's my info: Xwiki Enterprise 1.7.2 with multiple spaces. I just migrated this wiki from another organization that was using version 1.4.2 (in case that makes a difference in my question). Environment: centos 5.2/apache 2.2/tomcat 6/mysql 5.1 Yesterday, we encountered errors on various pages (though not all) like the following: Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page /templates/ xwikivars.vm Wrapped Exception: Failed to evaluate content with id [/ templates/xwikivars.vm] Error number 4001 in 4: Error while parsing velocity page /templates/ htmlheader.vm Wrapped Exception: Failed to evaluate content with id [/ templates/htmlheader.vm] All the errors had some mention in the stack trace of trying to do an operation on the database after it's been disconnected. So we changed the JDBC url specified in the xwiki hibernate config file (/usr/local/ tomcat/webapps/xwiki/WEB-INF/hibernate.cfg.xml) to add the "autoReconnect=true" attribute and restarted Tomcat. That did away with the errors and we thought it was fixed. Well it happened again today. Looks like xwiki is getting into some state in which things start failing, after being up for some period of time or getting some number of user requests or something. But we are having severe personnel issues - so don't have anyone who knows much about tomcat to help us debug. If anyone else has come across this it would be a big help. One possible thing I can think of - since it mentioned velocity templates - when i migrated the wiki, i installed the default XAR - then I imported the mysql dump - could this have overwritten the new templates? If so, is re-importing the default XAR advisable on a live wiki? [xwiki-users] Import/Export application

Hello, I download the ImportExport Application (1.3) in one of my virtual wiki. When i go in the export page and select a space nothing happens (only the message "Start by choosing a space to list documents" in the lower cell disepears) I tried to look at the code but with no success. I added an instruction "alert(res.transport.responseText);" in showDocs function and the content is only set to the xml header. The readyStatus is set to 4 and the status is set to 200 so everything seems to be ok. [xwiki-users] Problems while registring users / using dot in usernames

Hello, I have seen that if I am using the register user popup (click on Add User from the Users screen), and if there is some kind of validation error on one of the fields I have just entered, the popup just dissapears (without displaying any error message). Accessing the following link (non popup) works http://csp1:8080/xwiki/bin/register/XWiki/Register. I don't think that this behavior is normal. 2nd question: is there a way to use dots (.) in the username? For the moment we are using XWiki for testing, but when we'll switch to LDAP authentication, we'll have all of our usernames with dots. I didn't look for a documentation regarding LDAP, but I think the LDAP support is integrated within XWiki. Asiri, I uploaded both xar files in my virtual wiki and all is ok, i have the new icon available. When i click on it i'm able to see the path and the profile path for open office My values are : *** You can override Server Path and Server Profile variables through WEB-INF/xwiki.properties file. Server Path C:/Program Files/OpenOffice.org 2.4/ Server Profile C:/Documents and Settings/BB03545/Application Data/OpenOffice.org2 Server State Not Running *** When i select "Start" and click on the button, i come back to the same page with a message "Inadequate privileges." If i look at the console, no error is displayed in it. I put the jodconverter beta jar in the WEB-INF/lib and the server is able to start but not to import a file I started Open Office like said on the page (i checked both windows process run). If i use the version 1.8 of both jar i have the bug we discussed about. If i stop the xwiki server (keep ooffice started) and replace the both jar (snapshot and beta) and restart the server, when i try to import a file i have as result an error box with only
