***** I'm posting this again cos the whole post got mixed up with

As written previously I'm trying to trigger some code on document save.
Sergiu Dumitriu explained issue I had with
(com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument vs.
com.xpn.xwiki.api.Document). I got most the stuff to work except (last
two lines of code) I am not able to save image from url as attachment.
I get Wrapped Exception: No signature of method
com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument.addAttachment() is applicable for
argument types: (java.lang.String, [B, com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiContext)
values: {"notif1.png", [-119,.., ["vcontext":...]}
Looking at the documentation at
http://maven.xwiki.org/site/xwiki-core-parent/xwiki-core/apidocs/com/xpn
/xwiki/doc/XWikiDocument.html
Says " XWikiAttachment | addAttachment(java.lang.String fileName, byte[]
data, XWikiContext context) "
Have I got type issue here or???
This is what I'm doing
def doc = xwiki.getDocument(docName, context); //use this for
com.xpn.xwiki.XWiki def tmpElList = el.split("[\"]") def umlImage =
tmpElList[1] def imgAsBites =
xwiki.getURLContentAsBytes("http://www.websequencediagrams.com/index.php
"+umlImage, context);
def newAttachment = doc.addAttachment(filenameToSavaAs,imgAsBites,
context); //use this for com.xpn.xwiki.XWiki
saveAttachmentContent(newAttachment,context);
Has anyone had a similar problem?

As you see, that is not an api object, but an internal class
(com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument vs. com.xpn.xwiki.api.Document). This
means that API methods don't work, unless they have an equivalent in the
other class.
You can either look at the methods of the XWikiDocument class, or get an
API object and work with it (new com.xpn.xwiki.apiDocument(tmpDoc)

If it's default xwiki table, then edit the style.css
(/xwiki/skins/yourskin/style.css as I remember):
.wiki-table {
margin: 1em 0;
}
1em will be for top and bottom margin.
if this doesn't help, try wrapping your table into special div:
"yourtable"
and the style would be:
.table-container table {
margin: 1em 0;
}
Quoting "goldring, richard" : Mike,
Thanks.
Where/how do I set the style - what steps? Is this some global wiki
style
thing or can it be per page or space?

Have you tried setting margin to 0 in style? It can't be a bug,
it's
all about style how's table being positioned.

In 1.8M1 the XWiki 2.0 syntax doesn't support block level elements
(like
lists or tables) inside table cells. By 1.8 final we'll have a
syntax
for (so called) embedded documents which will allow us to have
block
level elements inside table cells and list items. Till then we have
to
face this limitation.

Dear all,
is it possible to search with the lucene search only in a selected class?
e.g. I want to search in the TodoClass for "Todo OR Read" only in the
"Description" class.
Or is there another possibility?
thanks
juergen
Hi guys,
as mentioned in the subject, turning a section heading into a link,
removes the section editing feature for the same section.
Cheers,
Sebastian
Is it possible to create a simple custom class that can then be used within
another custom class as a property?
For example:
Class A
Category
TAC Rule
Class B
Question
Answer
Category (populated from all Categories)
Thanks!

Yes I concurr - my users would find the WYSIWYG table border editing very
useful, plus sizing of tables.
Also noted that the table gets centred on the page - can't seem to left or
right justify it. Also can't insert tables within tables. Also the bulleting
breaks when switching between the WYSIWYG editor and the wiki editor.

At this moment you cannot change the table border using the new WYSIWYG
editor. Unfortunately, AFAIK, this feature hasn't been planed for 1.8.
You can open a JIRA issue and we'll handle it in the 1.9 time span.
Until then you can still style your table with the XWiki 2.0 syntax,
from the Wiki editor, by writing something like:
(% style="background-color: gray;" %)
|= foo|=bar
|(% style="font-size:24pt;" %)a|(% class="loading" %)b

We'll try to make this features available as soon as possible.

Hi XWiki users,
I thought some of you might be interested by the new offering from
XWiki SAS (http://xwiki.com) in term of hosting.
See http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Services/Hosting for details.
The prices have been revised down and they are now very affordable for
everyone I think:
- 600 euros/year (that's 50 euros/month) for companies
- 300 euros/year (that's 25 euros/month) for associations.
So if you want to have a ready to use wiki very quickly and you don't
want to install it and maintain it yourself check it out.
Of course for non business and non critical hosting we still have our
free farm on http://myxwiki.org
Thanks
-Vincent

How do you change the logo?
I've copied our logo over the existing logo under the skins directory - and
restarted the wiki and opened a new browser on the wiki but it still has the
old logo! What am I missing?
Thanks.

Hi!
Is it possible to automatically change attachment name to lowercase /
uppercase when uploading it (so when using some picture, you wouldn't
need to specify it's name as a case sensitive)?
Best regards, Mike
Hi guys,
changing border color for tables (i.e setting 000000 for making them
black) has no effect on the table, when saving the document. (using
eysiwyg editor)

Sebastian

Hello.
I'm having some trouble with the administration of page rights in XWiki
1.7.1.
I have a space with certain user rights.
Then I assign some rights to a different user in a page in that space,
leaving the rest of the boxes blank.
As a result, the other users lose their rights in the page. I need to
copy the marks from the rights admin to the page rights admin, so that
the space users do not lose their rigths in this page.
I've read again
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Features/RightsManagement and I
can't distinguish if this effect is this a bug or a feature.
Thank you for your help.

I'm attempting to embed some {code} within a number list using the
following syntax:
1. Subject
11. Step 1
{code}
my code here...
{code}
11. Step 2
11. Step 3
11. Step 4
and trying to get it to show like this:
1. Subject
1. Step 1
my code here
2. Step 2
3. Step 3
4. Step 4
but it's coming out like this:
1. Subject
1. Step 1
my code here
1. Step 2
2. Step 3
3. Step 4
I have two issues.
First, it's re-numbering my number list after the code, starting at
number 1 again, but I need it to continue the number list.
Second, it's not indenting my code.
How can I fix these? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
After installing Xwiki on my linux laptop without any problem, now i try to
install it in my company. We use Websphere 6.1 and Oracle 10
When we deploy the standard WAR file (from the xwiki.org website) it goes ok
but trying to reach the xwiki URL, we got an error message :
Error 500: javax.servlet.ServletException: com.xpn.xwiki.XWikiException:
Error number 3 in 0: Could not initialize main XWiki context Wrapped
Exception: Error number 3001 in 3: Cannot load class
com.xpn.xwiki.store.migration.hibernate.XWikiHibernateMigrationManager from
param xwiki.store.migration.manager.class Wrapped Exception: Error number 0
in 3: Exception while hibernate execute Wrapped Exception: Could not parse
mapping document from resource xwiki.oracle.hbm.xml
The xml file can be found in the core jar but does not seem to be found by
the system.
We tried to put some XML copies in other folders but without success.
Thank you for your help

Hi All
If I add Search panel using Panel Wizard, click "Save the new layout" button and open some wiki page - I dont see Search panel. Intead of it, I see Search panel. If I go to wizard again, both containers, Search and Create are empty, i.e. I cannot try to add Search panel again.
Any ideas, what can be wrong with by XWiki?
Regards
Alexey
Hi All
I have a page (p1) written in syntax 2.0. It has a link to another page (p2). When I'm renaming or moving p2, there is no backlink from p1 to p2 on Rename screen. Also, if I add Orphaned Pages panel, I can see p2 listed in there. Looks like links from syntax 2.0 pages are not tracked at all.
If I add link to p2 on some 1.0 page, it works fine: backlink is shown on Rename page and p2 disappears from Orphaned Pages list.
Is it me doing something wrong or bug in XWiki?
I'm using XWiki Enterprise 1.7.1.15366. Backlinks are turned on in xwiki.cfg

Hi All
I don't want to see diff between old and new versions of the page, it's too verbose. All I need is page name and a comment.
How can I change format of WatchList Updates email?
Thanks

Dear all,
I am trying to create a document from a page, with a template and an
object attached, but without having to quit the said page.
I generate fine the new document and the object with the values i want
for the properties, but i did not succeed in putting text in the
document, i tried using $newDoc.setDefaultTemplate and
$newDoc.insertText but no success at all.
I post here my piece of code, any hint will be appreciated (after a few
hours on this, i am a bit lost):
#if($createDomain!="")
#set($newDoc=$xwiki.createDocument())
#set($newName="Project."+$newDomainId)
$newDoc.rename($newName)
$newDoc.insertText("#includeForm(\"XWiki.DomainClassSheet\")","")
#set($newDoc=$xwiki.getDocument($newName))
#set($newObject=$newDoc.newObject("XWiki.DomainClass"))
$newObject.set("id",$newDomainId)
$newObject.set("name",$createDomain)
$newDoc.save()
#end

Hi guys,
I chose to have our XWiki to be translated into German. The standard
setting to "de" does only change some portions of the Wiki. Is the
prefered way to have everything translated to manipulate all standard
templates or is there some kind of better, more stable way? What
happens if I translate stuff in the templates and update the XWiki
later on. Would they vanish again? If I go on translating the stable
and preferred way, which I hope you give me some suggestions for, I'm
willing to give you the work back, if you like, of course.
Cheers,
Sebastian
Thanks Jean-Vincent,
Yes, I notice now that I only have the "admin" column in the space rights
editor, not per page. Still, I can assign access rights for any other page
in this space, but for these two I get:
"an exception occured while trying to save current modifications.
please check if you have the proper rights to preform these modifications."
