hello people,
1. I created a template: TemplateWikiFull, and imported xwiki-enterprise-ui-wik...xar , to my wiki have all features.
1.1I insert a line basic in template page of this wiki (to identify the inheritance)
2. I created a Space: in the TemplateWikiFull wiki, named: TemplateSpace.
2.1 I insert a line basic in template page of this Space (to identify the inheritance)
3.I created a Page: in the TemplateWikiFull wiki, named: TemplPage1
3.1I insert a line basic in template page of this Page (to identify the inheritance)
questions:
if I create a new wiki based on the above template, this new wiki inherits?
if I create a new Space ou Page based on the respective above template, inheritance occurs??
well... in each of these steps I tried to create them, but there was no inheritance.
can someone help me?
where I went wrong, or does this feature not work that way?
thank you everyone!!!!

Hello,
deletion of /home/data_xwiki/jobs/status/distribution/status.xml doesn't relaunch distribuution wizard on tomcat restart
Note: /webapps/xwiki/WEB-INF/xwiki.propertie indicate:
environment.permanentDirectory=/home/data_xwiki/
Is it a bug or are they a new method?
NB: deletion of /home/data_xwiki/jobs/status/distribution subdirectory ever doesn't work

In my last e-mail I discussed a bug where widgets are not displayed in
the administration web pages of our old XWiki. In an effort to fix this
bug, I have tried exporting the old XWiki into a new clean
installation. The issue is the bug comes into the new XWiki on importing.
I can export the pages one at a time without getting the bug. However,
the links do not come with them. This is a very tedious effort to
resort the web site this way. Does anyone have suggestions for tools
for systematically exporting and importing the web pages? Also, what do
we do about the users and other configured spaces? Any other "outside
the box" thinking or solutions are welcome.
Hello,
Is possible to restore a deleted sub-Wiki?
Thanks!

Well I really only intended to go from 5.4.4 to 5.4.5 but one thing let to
another so I decided to go with the latest milestone release. It all
appears to be working OK, but I'm getting an error during the migration
phase, where is says that some of the existing 5.4.4 UI pages/packages are
"not valid"...so the migration fails to complete properly. (When I restart
the container I get presented with the migration gui again).
My own wiki content appears to be OK, but now I'm not sure about the system
pages.
Are there any know issues with the migrator? Any way to bypass this validity
check and force it anyway?
Cheers,MT

A lot of images and attachments went missing after xwiki upgrade.
However, after rebooting my machine, xwiki was magically fixed.
I guess something made PostgreSQL instance refuse to serve its
contents and restarting the instance solved the problem.

Our XWiki web site is broken. The symptom is that many buttons,
drop-downs, text boxes do not display. We can display the main content
web pages and links to other pages work. The trouble comes when we try
to administer the web site. For instance, we cannot add a user to a
group because the text entry boxes and the "Add" button do not display
when the group edit page is displayed.
Example GETS that do not work are in the form of
http://gallica.ranchsystems.com:8080/xwiki/bin/cancel/XWiki/XWikiPreference…http://gallica.ranchsystems.com:8080/xwiki/bin/lock/XWiki/XWikiPreferences&…
These GETS result in the [HTTP/1.1 204 No Content 169ms] error.
We welcome all suggestions and advice on the matter.
Dear XWiki users,
Since I’ve seen several questions recently on the list related to XWiki events, I’ve spent several hours rewriting the XWiki Notifications Tutorial here:
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/DevGuide/WritingEventListenerTutor…
You’ll learn for example:
- Adding content to pages on save
- Log when a document is modified
- Send a mail whenever a comment is added
Enjoy!
Thanks
-Vincent

Hi everyone,
On the 15th of December (i.e. in a month's time), it will be **10 years**
since the first commit on the XWiki open source project.
Ludovic did the first commit in CVS on Sourceforge:
"
15.12.2003 10:13:33, by ludovic
Initial revision
"
(Can be seen at
http://svnsearch.org/svnsearch/repos/XWIKI/search?from=20030101&to=20040101
)
10 years is starting to be some respectable milestone!
I invite everyone to join us in celebrating by adding your own story about
your interaction with the XWiki community or the XWiki software at
http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Drafts/TenYearsOfXWiki
<XWiki SAS hat>
Since I'm also the CTO of the XWiki SAS company, I'd like to officially
invite all the members of this great community to join us in celebrating
the 10 days of the XWiki project at the XWiki SAS office in Paris, France
on the 12th of December 2013.
Here's the invitation:

See you there!

Well done everyone!

Hi,
Create a link on a header in the same page is painfull.
First reflex is to use the link syntax of the link
label>>Space.Page#HMyheading as described
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/XWikiSyntax#HLinks and
ommitting the "Space.Page".
It seems quite natural but it does not work and we have to use the xwiki
syntax link specification : |anchor="HMyHeading"
Each time I have to do this, I spend a lot of time to retrieve this
information (my co-worker too), so I create my own xwiki user guide but I
think it should be more easy if this information stay on xwiki syntax...
Is it possible to add a new row in the the table of Links section with
|anchor="HMyHeading" ?
Or better, allow us to create links with label>>#HMyheading
By the way, I'm not alone:

Chrisophe
Hi,
how can I check programmatically that a certain member is in a group.
I need this in my custom authentication, to prevent the same user from been
added several times to the same group.
Thanks
Hello together,
I don't know why, but since I upgraded to 6.0 (6.0.1) I cannot launch the
Syntax Guide (XWiki.XWikiSyntax). I just get an Failed to execute the
[velocity] macro error and that's it.
Here you will find the complete error message->
http://mysticpaste.com/view/z6rrmr8o91?2
I have a clone of the XWiki instance where I don't have this problem but
there the content is shown twice.
I compare both pages and for me they are the same, same content, same
objects, same classes.
Where can I look or test whre this problem is coming from?
Best regards Kai

Hi,
i am adding Users to a group as shown below d want to prevent that a user
be added to a group twice. It is not working this way.
if( null == groupDoc.getXObject(groupDocumentReference, "member",
xwikiname)){
// Add a member object to document
BaseObject memberObj = groupDoc.newXObject(
groupClass.getDocumentReference(), context);
memberObj.setStringValue("member", xwikiname);

Hi,
i am receiveing the following exception:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: URLDecoder: Illegal hex
characters in escape (%) pattern - For input string: "!<"
My scenario:
Users can create space by using a URL that looks like:
mydomain.com/xwiki/bin/...?space=
%C3%A4%C3%B6%C3%BC%C3%9F%C2%A7%25%21%3C%3E_helloworld
i then try to decode this spacename and create the space without success.
String decodedspacename = URLDecoder.decode(space, "UTF-8");
How should i deal with this?
thanks for your help in advance.
Hi list,
I'm trying to use the XWikiHeadersAuthenticator from xwiki-contrib. I'm new
to XWiki as you will see.
I built it with maven and put the jar in /usr/lib/xwiki/WEB-INF/lib. Now I
can see it in the core plugins : "xwiki-authentication-headers", "default
install".
I put XWiki behind an Apache reverse-proxy that set http headers, but
nothing special happened.
I put <logger name="org.xwiki" level="debug"/>
in /usr/lib/xwiki/WEB-INF/classes/logback.xml, but I never see the "Headers
auth started" banner that comes from this plugin's CheckAuth()
Is there anything special to do to register it ?
Docs refer to XAR plugins. So I added this in the pom.xml :
<packaging>xar</packaging>
<build>
<extensions>
<extension>
<groupId>com.xwiki.authentication</groupId>
<artifactId>xwiki-authentication-headers</artifactId>
<version>1.0-SNAPSHOT</version>
</extension>
</extensions>
</build>
Now I've got a xwiki-authentication-headers.xar, but I don't know what to
do with it.
Any help will be greatly appreciated !
Thanks,
Sam.
Hello,
I'm preparing a migration of 3 xwiki, actually installed on 2 servers. ( xwiki version 2.4, 5.4 & 3.4)
The new environment is a server with 3 tomcat 7 and 3 Oracle DBs.
The question is , do I need to install 3 OpenOffice on the server ?, because when I tried to deploy the second war (1st installation is ok) , I got a permgen space exception. Openoffce is configured on the same port (default 8100) on both installation.
