I have emailed recently here: it appears all my pages are gone. There is very limited search capability on myxwiki.
I can't find a single one of my pages. Ideas?
I deleted a document from a space, and that space is now missing.
Another intersting thing is that when I visit a document index, I see
The "documents" macro is not in the list of registered macros. Verify the
spelling or contact your administrator.
I said to myself, "Oh my god, somebody help me. I'm losing my data!!!"
What is going on?
Resending as attachments exceeded size limits and my email was sent for
moderation...

Yes, some (most) wiki pages/spaces should be available to unregistered guests to view. Ideally we want all, members and staff: all users can view and comment on public pages, members can view edit and comment on public pages, staff can view, edit, comment on all pages (public and private). But considering my knuckle-headed moves with permissions so far I am trying to keep it basic for now.

I did not install any plug-ins. I only referenced the plugin as the page
I was looking at
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application)
to try and discover the fix for my annotation problem referenced a
plugin, and to make sure it was installed. I simply looked in the
Extension Manager to ensure it was checked. My administration screen
(see attached: XWiki Preferences (XWiki.XWikiPreferences) - XWiki.png)
looks just like the one on that page
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Applicatio…).
I also have this admin page where I can make annotations visable or not:

Hello,
I'm using the AscTec SDK V3.0 under Windows7 (with Eclipse environement) downloaded from AscTec SDK Download Wiki page (http://wiki.asctec.de/xwiki/bin/view/AscTec+Development+Tools/SDK+Downloads). I'm trying to flash the HLP of the Mastermind (with JTAG adapter) to test the "SDK_EXAMPLE_gps_waypoint_control". When running OpenOCD Asctec-JTAG, the console shows only the line:
Info: openocd.c:92 main(): Open On-Chip Debugger (2007-08-10 22:30 CEST)
which means that the JTAG connection is activated correctly. But when debugging Asctec JTAG Debug, I get the following error:
'Launching Asctec JTAG Debug' has encountered a problem.
Error creating session
Details in attachments.
I'm trying to fix this error since the last week. I re-installed everything many times, I evenused another pc (windows7). But I still get the same error.
Where doesthe error come from? How to deal with this problem to get the code on the H.L.P correctly?
Best regards,
Karima BENZAID

Hi, All!
Activity Stream Macro works fine. One of the options it has to enable RSS Feed.
RSS Feed works fine with document changes, but doesn't include any comments added to the document.
So finally we have discrepancy: Activity Stream data: ALL CHANGES and it's feed document CONTEN changes ONLY.
Is there any way to watch also commenting activity in the feed?
Kind regards,
Dmitry
Hi!
I am running Xwiki 5.2 and trying to create a new wiki from the Wiki
Manager.
If fails with the following message in container logs: Access denied
for user 'xwiki'@'localhost' to database 'ezr' (where 'ezr' is the wiki
name).
I verified my installation reading the steps specified here :
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/InstallationMySQL
My guess is the 'xwiki' user can't create a new database : what if the
official documentation about xwiki MySQL user for multi-tenant usage ?
Do I have to modify something in MySQL privileges ?
Here is the resulting privileges of "grant all privileges on xwiki.* to
xwiki@localhost identified by 'xxx'"
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Grants for xwiki@localhost
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
GRANT USAGE ON *.* TO 'xwiki'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD '***'
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON `xwiki`.* TO 'xwiki'@'localhost'
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
From my understanding of the above , xwiki user only have all
privileges access to xwiki db... So the user can't create any additional
xwiki database !?
Thanks !

Hi,
I installed XWiki, but the home page is not what I want. I want it to be
like xwiki.org, that is, has the nav menu, and footer etc.
But I do not know how to start to do it. Shall I edit the view.vm?
Your advice is appreciated.

I have a hosted (xwiki.com) Enterprise XWiki and would like to enable
the Annotations feature
(http://extensions.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Extension/Annotations+Application).
They do not appear now.
After reviewing the above page, I am able to activate the Annotations
tab, however the I cannot find out how to turn on / make available the
annotations tool itself to create the annotations. That is, I do not
have the Annotations tool button in the "Edit" "Export" "More Actions"
header on the top of the page (see attached image).
Annotations are not available to the Admin role, as a registered user or
anonymous user.
I have tried the Ctrl + M (Meta + M) as well, thinking this still might
work even without the button, but nothing happens.
The Annotations plugin is installed (as I said I, can see the
"Annotations" tab on each page across the wiki at the top and bottom
next to "Comments" Attachments" etc.).
I am running the XWiki.DefaultSkin running the "Mint" color theme.
I have tried viewing on Ubuntu Firefox and Chrome; Mac Safari 6 and
Windows IE10.
Within the Annotations Application on the Administration page I have the
settings at:
* Annotations are activated: YES
* Except for the following spaces: NONE selected
* Display annotations by default: YES
* Display annotations highlight by default: YES
* XWiki class defining annotations structure: XWiki.XWikiComments
(this was already set--default?-- when I first visited the page).
I do see a note on the Annotations page, "/If you are using a custom
annotations class other than the previously default/
AnnotationsCode.AnnotationsClass /in the annotations configuration.../"
I have cleared my browser cache after selecting and saving the above.
I have searched the FAQ:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQCode/FAQSearch?space=FAQ&text=Annota…
I have searched the lists and found:
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Annotations-not-working-td7345638.html
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Annotations-comments-merge-validation-td7…
This thread indicates XWiki.XWikiComments is correct, "/Basically
the new format is XWiki.XWikiComments class instead of the old /
AnnotationCode.AnnotationClass"
* http://xwiki.475771.n2.nabble.com/Re-display-issues-in-IE-td7587297.html#a7…
Any advise appreciated, thanks,
Patrick

OK, I completely borked my wiki and space permissions/rights and have
locked myself out of several spaces as both Admin and a user (the global
permissions are all unchecked but I cannot see the wrench or click on
"administer space" from my Admin account).
Any way to reset all privileges to the "factor defaults?"
I do not have any users yet, but have migrated all of our content over
from our previous wiki.
Thanks,

After trying to import the standard XWiki-5.2.1 pages, I could not
import all the default pages. The resulting error message counted ca.
10-20% of all pages as erroneous.
I could manage to import a small number aof pages (2-3).
I am using a MySQL database configuration.
In the Tomcat error log, the first and often repeated exception are
copied after these lines.
Does anyone have a hint?
Could it be a configuration problem?
Thankyou in advance
Matthias

I had an extensive wiki, logged in, the user interface had changed since my last activity and I can't figure out where my wiki is, or if it is just gone?
That is a little disconcerting that our wiki's can completely dissapear, seeing how they can't be backed up and restored by us ...
Hello XWiki,
I am trying to paste an image in the WYSIWYG editor, without attach it, but I am getting an error... When I paste the image in the WYSIWYG editor the image looks fine but when I save and view the document the image crashes.

Oh, if this is about enabling GA on myxwiki.org, then the issue is very
simple: only extensions saved by users with programming rights can be used in the whole wiki. A farm admin will have to re-save the GA settings page for you. Which wiki are you referring to?

Hi,
I am trying to include a FavIcon in my wiki and I've found this
information, but it doesn't help me...

Well, a favicon is usually placed in the root of the URL, like
www.myserver.com/favicon.ico
Doing that in a java webapp container usually involves adding that file
not to the xwiki webapp, but to the ROOT webapp. In tomcat, there is a
ROOT directory inside webapps.
Another solution is to put something like this in
webapps/xwiki/skins/albatross/htmlheader.vm:
<link rel="icon" href="$xwiki.getSkinFile("favicon.png")" type="image/png"/>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="$xwiki.getSkinFile("favicon.png")"
type="image/png"/>
and put a favicon.png (you can change the name, if you want) in
webapps/xwiki/skins/albatross
If you're not using the albatross skin, change the path accordingly.

Hi. A few months ago I hit the problem with exporting images to PDF with
the "XWiki MultipagePdfExport Application - Space Export" plugin with
configured LDAP/AD/SSO - https://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-9161
After some time there was a fix suggested in that issue (a change of one
line) which works and looks reasonably. I don't know who is responsible
for the "Old Core - PDF export" component and who has proper knowledge
and permissions to review proposed change and push it into the
repository, so I asked here to gain attentions to make it fixed upstream.
Thanks
Marcin
Hi all,
I'm on IE 8 and the WYSIWYG Editor won't allow me to scroll vertically or show the scrollbar. I have to use the arrow key to move through the lines to 'scroll'. The source editor scrolls fine though.
I realize that this is a hard question for you to answer due to lack of information, but does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I don't appear to be getting any JS errors.
Thanks in advance,
Christian
XWiki Crew,
The Open Source Initiative (www.opensource.org) would like to migrate
from our current wiki, Dokuwiki, to XWiki. The goal of the effort is to
increase participation and collaboration among the broader open source
community through a platform that enables distributed groups to readily
find and contribute to the efforts of the OSI.
The wiki will be used (edited) by internal OSI staff, the Board of
Directors and OSI members (individuals, partners on various projects,
representatives from affiliate organizations and our corporate
sponsors). While we hope to see increasing use, currently the realistic
number of accounts would be less than 50 and actual authors/editors
would be around 20.
Per you instructions, I (username: Patrick Masson) have registered at
wiki.org. We would request our server name to be, 'osi.mywiki.org'
Thank you,
Patrick
