[xwiki-users] [ANN] XWiki 9.2 Release Candidate 1 released

The XWiki development team is proud to announce the availability of XWiki 9.2 Release Candidate 1. This release introduces the Notification menu to follow wiki activity more easily. The Administration has been re-organized with a collapsible menu. The Menu Application becomes responsive with burger menus. For the advanced users, the CKEditor integration adds support for dedicated Insert Macro tool bar buttons and the Extension Manager adds support for conflict resolution configuration when installing an extension. As usual, the release also brings many bug fixes and other small improvements. [xwiki-users] How to trigger an event or method on page delete?

I have implemented a xwiki based application in which there are two main classes "A" and "B". Those classes have a one-to-many relationship where one "A" can be associated with many "B"s. (Just like presented in https://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/FAQ/HowToCreateAOneToManyRelationshipI… ) The main thing is that when I delete a page which contains and represents an "A" object, associated with many "B"s, those "B" pages still contain the reference to the no longer present "A" object. Therefore, I was hopping to find some kind of "onDelete" event triggered when a page is deleted so I could clean those dead references. Just to clarify: "B" objects have an attribute called "A-reference" where the doc.fullName of an "A" page is stored. If I could trigger a method when this "A" object is deleted I would be able to perform an HQL query in order to list those pages associated with the deleted "A" page and set a null value to the "A-reference" attribute. Would appreciate any thoughts and hints on how to solve this because I'm out of ideas and found no documentation on such event/trigger/method. Thanks! Francisco Barretto

[xwiki-users] How do I run the attachment porter?

Greets, I modified xwiki.properties and set: xwiki.store.attachment.hint = file xwiki.store.attachment.versioning.hint = file xwiki.store.attachment.recyclebin.hint = file ... and when I started XWiki I got the Java stacktrace below. I don't see anything obvious in them that would explain, but figure that they are probably because I did not run the attachment porter script; after all, the instructions do say up front: "If you're using the standalone packaging (the ZIP or EXE packagings) then you already have wiki pages and attachments in the database (since database is the default at the moment). Thus you'll need to apply the instructions for the next section and run the Filesystem Attachment Porter." OK, I saved the Filesystem Attachment Porter to my install dir, /data/xwiki, as porter.groovy. Then I installed groovy with "yum install groovy" on CentOS-7.3. Interestingly, whereas it says below "By default it's defined to be data", the commented-out line containing it in my unmodified xwiki.properties reads: # environment.permanentDirectory=/var/local/xwiki/ I don't have a /var/local/xwiki. I installed standalone 8.4.4 into /data, and do have a /data/xwiki/data/ with the expected contents. [xwiki-users] Admin+Export.xar To large to Import

Hi All, I needed to move my Xwiki (using the internal DB) as such I used the Admin export feature so I could import it on the new install. When I go to import it it advises that it cannot because it is larger then 32mb (Just over 44mb is the actual size). I found some information on changing the pref using http://<HOST>/xwiki/bin/edit/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=object but this did not resolve. Could I please seek some help on how I can re-import my Wiki onto the new install? [xwiki-users] Install XWiki as whom?

Thanks! I installed it (the standalone version) as root and ran it briefly a few times as root. Now when I try to run it as myself it fails because I can't overwrite logs that have already been started. Should start over and reinstall as myself? Or rather, as the user as whom I wish to run? Or maybe I should just chmod -R the whole thing and go with it? Any other complications or steps I am not thinking of yet?
