Window resizing problem

We had customized a downloaded version of xwiki (9.840). We added a lot of new links to the left hand pane. Everything is fine - except a small cosmetic problem. When I resize the window, the left hand pane gets superimposed on the middle text and remains there even when restoring the window. Has anyone faced a similar situation? Any solutions?
