It does not have much to do with script right. All it takes to modify
a page (and break it if that page require special author rights) is
edit right.
I guess the main issue is more that Search page is located in Main
space and you are not going to forbid edit right for everyone on that
entire space like it's done in XWiki space by default. What you could
do to prevent accidents like this is to explicitly give all but view
right on pages you want to project (in this case Main.Search) to
XWikiAdminGroup so that only members of that group can modify them.
