Hi Stanley,
There would be 3 ways of addressing this limitation:
1) If you use subwikis in an intranet-like environment or, more generally,
use only global users, and you wish to allow them to create subwikis where
they can perform their work, then I would recomment that you try the
recently released Workspace Application [1]. The only constraint for this is
that you use XWiki 3.2 or greater.
2) A "quicker" solution is the one specified in the comment of a XEM Jira
issue [2]. The problem with that, is that it always shows XWiki.Admin as the
creator of the subwiki and you have to write some custom UI.
3) A final, third solution, is the one specified in the comments of the
Wiki3.0 Jira issue [3] that you've previously referenced. It involves
creating a new component, that uses the wikiManager plugin internally, but
avoids the java permission checks that limit wiki creation only to admins.
However, this has already been done for the Workspace Component [4] that is
part of the Workspace Application suggested at 1).
Thanks,
Eduard
P.S.: If you are interested in 1), there currently is a live demo instance
[5] where you can try it out.

Nevermind. I see the comments on the JIRA. I'm
not 100% how to implement,
but will investigate.
If anyone has developed documentation on how to do this, would you be
willing forward?
Thanks...

I see the following JIRA regarding this issue:

But I'm not seeing any details regarding the resolution. Was a
configuration option added to disable java rights checking for the
current
user? I scanned through xwiki.cfg, but I'm
not seeing anything
related...
Many thanks...

Thanks in advance for any feedback.
