I faced exactly the same problem last week. The trouble starts as I starts
the solr system via the web UI.I've recreate index and so on without any
luck. Then I've rm'ed both dir
/var/lib/xwiki/data/lucene
and
/var/lib/xwiki/data/solr
. After that I've seen in the web UI that the solr index is rebuilding,
after that all things are up and running. Solr search works since then
without any problems.
