I think I found the problem. In Main.WebSearch, there
line that
adds extra
conditions to the query to exclude certain spaces for non-admins was
excluding main:
...doc.web<>'Main' and ...
Right. I forgot to mention that space. I think it's me who added it a
few releases back but I couldn't find a reason I had added it and
thus I've removed that exclusion in 1.1M2 about a week ago (it now
only excludes Admin, XWiki and Panels spaces).
Why would that be? I'm assuming that was what was
in the 1.1M1
when I got
it, but maybe I fudged it somehow. I'm going to dig through the
history
and see.

Regarding the visibility of results, I know its not a distinction
of access
rights. I can give the view URL of some of the results I see as an
administrator (e.g. we have a page named PRISM) to a non-admin and
they can
view it just fine. They can also follow wiki links to those
pages. Yet
when they search for those pages, they don't come up while when I
search
for them they do show up in the search results.
Regarding how I produce the exception, I think it is during the
executionof
a search (or the rendering of the results). What completely throws
me off,
though, is the file referenced in the exception:
http://wikiserver/xwiki/bin/skin/skins/albatross/icons/black-edit-
ab2.png
What could possibly be wrong with an image?
Now I've also been tweaking the theme a little bit which I'ms
tarting to
think might have broken this. I wish I could track down what is
broken so
I don't have to start over from scratch again.
Regards,
Brian.

Hi Brian,

I've recently installed XWiki 1.1 milestone 1. I and a couple of

For some

search
page and can submit a search, but they never see in results.
I've just tested this on the 1.1M2 version we're going to release
tonight or tomorrow and it's working fine.
I think it's also working fine in 1.1M1. You need to be aware that
the search doesn't return the same results if you're admin and if
you're not. The reason is that we exclude the Admin, XWiki and Panels
spaces for non-admins. We also exclude the WebPreferences pages. Last
the pages displayed are only pages for which the user has "view"
access.
I'm running this under Jetty on Win32 using
wrapper.exe to run it
as a
service. In the wrapper.log, I see the following types of
exceptions, but
I don't know if these correlate to just those who can't see
results, or
everybody:

XWikiAction:execute:185 - Uncaught exception: Error number 0 in 11:

[snip]
I don't know what this exception is but there shouldn't be any
exception in the console... Do you know what to do to reproduce this
exception?
Thanks
