com.xpn.xwiki.doc.XWikiDocument.renameDocument() is a method that will do what you need done, without worrying about whether you get all your database ducks in a row. I also checked the data within XWIKILINKS. I was also unable to determine where xwiki get its document ids (XWD_ID) at startup.
