Thomas, Oh, ok, then I think keeping the things the way they are would work (no one will be confused). I see now I just see my name and account as I am looking at the map through my Google profile ("MyMaps). This is confirmed when I logged out of my Google account and reviewed in another browser. So if the XWiki community is OK with me managing this, I am happy to--I assume, Thomas, you can speak for the whole community :-). BTW--three folks on the map now!!! It's not even telling me who created the map, I get "Created on Jan 17 · By · Updated 14 minutes ago", so an empty string where I would expect to find you.

When I look at https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210331808187331529022.0004f02bd076d94db... the only thing I see related to you is that you are one of the locations (and I even appear first among the locations in my case).

Hey great. Not sure if this is the best option, but "the enemy of good is perfect." Perhaps the XWiki folks want to create their own map (through their own account)? I don't mind keeping this one, but maybe some XWiki'ers will get confused when they see my account information versus something official from XWiki.
Two and counting...! Patrick

Sounds like a good idea, I added myself to the map so see how it's going on.

Now most of the events the xwiki devs participate to are held in Europe since most of us are based in Europe... Sorry :) Hey still closer than Sydney Australia (wink wink) > Also any XWiki users in New York / New England area of the U.S.? It would be great if some XWiki users around the world could organize some events!
It could be interesting to find a new way so that xwiki users could locate themselves on a map. This could then be the basis for organizing meetups where there are clusters of xwiki users.
WDYT? Any idea? How about embedding this map
(https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=210331808187331529022.0004f02bd076d94db...) on a page in xwiki.org? I added (again perhaps overstepping my bounds) the map to the "Contributing" page under the header "Join the Community" at http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Community/Contributing
Obviously, just an idea - feel free to nuke.
