Vincent,
Could you try this:
1) Create a new space, but use a *blank page* (not a dashboard)
2) Edit that page and insert some text onto that page and also
{{dashboard/}}
3) Edit that page inline and add some gadgets and columns the dashboard
Does the dashboard remember the layout?
