WAR = XWiki + default settings of XWiki
Standalone = XWiki + default settings of XWiki + preconfigured HSQLDB + Jetty
XWiki is Java based application, so depending on your requirements, for production you
will have to:
- install and set up database
- install and set up Java
- install and set up container, e.g. Tomcat
- install and set up OpenOffice (if needed)
- install and set up web server in front of container, e.g. nginx, apache, lighttpd etc.,
(if needed)

or deb package installation

IMHO, you won't need PHPmyAdmin at all.

I thank you for your quick response. Since this is
completely new, I don't
want to be that guy that asks all the questions and not read the
instructions. I have read most instructions, but still I a little confused.
I noticed the standalone was a prepackaged deal. Is the .war the same? For
all my WP intranets, I used WAMP an PHPmyAdmin.
Is that what I can use for this wiki? Or is it prepackaged like the
standalone?
