I was wondering what is the purpose of the XWD_DEFAULT_TEMPLATE field in the xwikidoc table. I tried entering a document name (e.g. test.template) assuming that when I created new documents in the same space (in this case "test") XWiki would include "test.template" document. I did not to my dismay. The reason I am asking this question is because I am currently analysing the architecture for an "artifact manager" application for XWiki. Having a default template functionality applicable per web space would be one less function to implement for me. ==== The Artifact Manager would enable the support for things like Product & Feature Management with management rights per web space (i.e. Product Web Space, Feature Web Space). This is my target first step but the Artifact Manager could be extended to include Bugs (i.e. non-compliance) & Use Cases Management for example. I also intend to implement categorisation functionality applicable per Web Space; this functionality is useful for managing a user-friendly navigation through a Web Space.
