It's a great idea to have a sandbox for code snipplets in the SVN
repository..
It will allow us to take any code before graduating it as real projects
or integrating it in the core.
I'll create it in xwiki-sandbox

Congratulations to Mandriva for this great XWiki application. And
thanks for the VIP accounts on behalf of the XWiki developers.
You're welcome! Developing on top of the XWiki platform was a real
pleasure.
It would be great if you listed what specific
customizations you have
made and which one you think could be reusable. Maybe some
developers would be happy to help integrating this back into the
XWiki source code.
Ok we will do so indeed. Part of the customizations have been publicized
on
xwiki.org, but we will add more.
Here are some of them:
* Dynamic XWikiMessageTool for editing the resource files online using
the "PO" format:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/Improved+XWikiMessageTool+for+manag…
There is a master document, all the others get synchronized to the
master keys when the master is updated. Some work remains to be done on
this for having modular resource documents. You can see it in action at
this URL:
http://club.mandriva.com/xwiki/bin/view/Cc/I18nResources (with
xwiki resources available in additional languages!)
* Custom mapping for storing users in dedicated tables (probably
outdated by the fresh Custom Mapping integrated into XWiki):
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/Storing+users+and+groups+in+dedicat…
* More interesting, the Quartz based Task Manager developed by Timothée:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/Tasks - works great!
* and the Survey tool started by Timothée too (mainly a Groovy script
for now):
http://club.mandriva.com/xwiki/bin/view/Survey/SatisfactionSurvey?xpage=code
* Threaded comments by Christophe, to be submitted this week, see the
comments display at
http://club.mandriva.com/xwiki/bin/view/Main/ClubV2Launch for instance
* XWiki based forums:
http://club.mandriva.com/xwiki/bin/view/Forum/WebHome they basically
just consist in sheets and templates, but that could evolve to a nice
advanced forum board
* We're also aiming at developing a help desk that is to be available as
an open-source XWiki application. We've started to describe the
specifications at
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/HelpDesk
By the way, speaking of integration, what about having a kind of sandbox
in the svn trunk so that we can put there some code that is to be
refactored collaboratively until it reaches the required level for
integration, instead of placing the code online in the wiki, where it's
not easy to refactor it? Is this a common practice? Or otherwise how can
we imagine having a collaborative refactoring for submitted modules
likely to be integrated sooner or later, after some discussion? (I have
in mind the XWikiTaskService for instance:
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Dev/Tasks)
I've sent the credits page to the Groovy
Project Manager ! He was
very happy ! I think it will be forwarded to the Groovy mailing list !
Cool idea, thanks!

Hi everyone,
Short note to tell you that since last Wednesday the new Mandriva
Club has been XWikied and is going well! The server gets
approximately 40000 page views per day. It contains for now 5500
documents, 2600 objects, 73 classes, 25000 users and 15 groups. It
runs on a 64bits Opteron mono CPU, 2Go RAM. The packaging of XWiki
into JPackage and into Mandriva Linux is underway.
As mentionned on the "Credits" page, we'll be more than happy to
offer a VIP account to any active developer of XWiki:
http://club.mandriva.com/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Credits
Kudos Ludovic! Thanks everyone!
Stéphane PS: the threaded comments feature will be submitted this week
