Hi guys,
I've upgraded to XWiki 2.3.
In the docs, it says:
"To turn on comment captcha requirement, go to wiki or space
administration, click on the "Rights" section and notice the checkbox
toward the bottom labeled "Require unregistered users to solve a
captcha when posting a comment on a page". Check that box and guests
will be required to solve a captcha to comment."
However, when I go to the "Rights" section, I do not see any checkbox
saying "Require unregistered users to solve a captcha when posting a
comment on a page".
I've already imported the latest xar-archive.
Could anyone shed some light how to get this new feature working?

I think you need to activate it in xwiki.cfg or xwiki.properties first - did
you look there?

actually I can't find anything regarding this in neither of said files.
The docs also don't mention any necessary change of said files.
If you can name a property I'd have to include, that would be great.

It's not in those files. Are you sure you are looking at the administration
page and clicking the rights icon (with the no parking sign) rather than
the rights for a single page
(where you click access rights in the drop down menu.)
This got me a few times.

Can't find saif checkbox neither in the groups nor users-tab
Is a possible reason for this behaviour, that I did *not* import the

XWiki.XWikiPreferences
That will do it. Just edit XWikiPreferences in Class mode
(?editor=class) and add a boolean property
guest_comment_requires_captcha
The code which does the comment captcha should pick this up and begin offering you the
option.

XWiki.XWikiAllGroup
XWiki.AdminGroup
XWiki.Admin
as recomended in the docs?

I'm afraid I'm too dump to get it.
When I open http://myHost/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences,
there's no "edit"-icon.
Opening the URL
http://dekolxrd01/xwiki/bin/admin/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=class,
there's no notable change.
Any clues how to edit XWikiPreferences in classmode?

(http://myServer/xwiki/bin/edit/XWiki/XWikiPreferences?editor=class),
and voilà - there is the class-editor.
Will keep you guys posted if I get the captachs working.

cant watch the Wiki anymore (meaning getting updates on changes).

Looks like it's failing while checking if you have comment access on
AnnotationCode.WebHome.
Was this introduced by turning on captcha? I can't see how the two could be related.

I got no idea why that exception occured. What I do see now is that
the notification ("watch") no works.
The exception, however, comes up every few seconds, and this behaviour
started after I added the property to the XWikiPreferences-class, so
my guess is that those two are somehow related.
Checking the MySQL-logs, I don't see any errors, however, I do see
some command which are rolled back, so again my guess here is, that
this command might cause the trouble:

Somewhere in your exception trace there should be a line number for the
line in the velocity macro which failed. Since you are the lucky user to
have the only case of this that I know of, you might have to do some debugging.
Is the notification app not allowing you to select watch or is it simply
failing when it does a notification event?
It would be nice to know what document it is trying to load

So my guess is:
The error occured after I added the attribute
"guest_comment_requires_captcha" into XWikiPreferences.
Is it possible that there needs to be a row in some table in the
database which has not - for whatever reasons - been created? If you
could name me the table / row, I could check and, if necessary, create
said row by hand.
Also, I got no idea how to debug any Velocity-macro inside XWiki. If
you can give me some instruction, that would be great.
Also, I do not see any Velocity-macro-line numbers (except from Java),
the only thing I see is that the macro "contentmenu.vm" seems to cause
the trouble.

Caleb, again: The notification *is* working, as I wrote b4. I was just
puzzled because it took quite some time until I received the mails - I
remembered that b4 the mails came quicker, but maybe my memory is
wrong regarding this point.
So if this INFO-message containing the exception is normal, we can
close that issue.
