Hi Guillaume
Thanks for the help. We had a mix up in our installation. The version
I was installing with was early April. Your reference to the bugs put
me onto this. When I talked to my IT technican he had downloaded the
new version into a different location - we need to talk more! Just
finished installing the latest version with no problems.
Thank you very much for your quick response and understanding.
Graeme

Subject: Re: [xwiki-users] Workspaces issue
Hi,
Thanks, we downloaded the current version. Downloaded yesterday.
ZIP / WAR / XAR ? Tomcat / Jetty ? Apache ?
As I told you we need more info to hel you sort things out -> I cannot
reproduce your issue so far, so I need more info to be able to 1)
reproduce
it 2) document it on JIRA 3) convince someone to fix it ;-)
Guillaume
Hi Graeme,
May I ask you what version of XWiki Workspaces your Uni is using ?
The bug you reported looks very similar to a combination of
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWS-33 &
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWS-41 that have now been fixed...
I tried to reproduce your issue locally on a XWiki Workspaces 1.0
instance
(not a RC nor a Milestone, the final 1.0 release) but couldn't.
1. I created a private space and a dummy user
2. I invited the user to the space as an author
3. The user can see the space, create new pages, edit blog
articles...
4. I made him a Reader, he could only view pages and add comments...
5. Basically O've got stuff working fine so far...
It would be great if you could undertake those 2 steps (in that order)
:
1. Download & Install the latest release of XWiki Workspaces and
try
to reproduce your issue
1.
http://www.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Main/Download#HXWikiWorkspaces
2.
http://www.xwiki.com/xwiki/bin/view/Blog/GettingStartedWithXWikiWorkspac
es
2. If you are able to reproduce it, send an email here detailing
all the steps you undertook + details about your configuration
(XAR,
WAR,
server, whatever you can think of)
3. Check on
http://jira.xwiki.org/jira/browse/XWS whether other
bugs
have already been reported
Thanks for using XWiki Workspaces and taking the time to report those
bugs
to us,
I hope everything will be working fine for you soon !
Guillaume
We've just installed Workspaces for our students to use but have a
> problem with space rights. When an student is added as an Author to
a
> space they can see the space in My Memberships
but are unable to
view
or
edit the space. When they are added as a Reader
they can see the
space
in My Memberships, cannot view the space but can
edit the space. We
are
able to use Admin to go in and correct the space
rights manually but
this will become unworkable as Workspaces become more used. Have we
made an error or is there a fix? It appears that space rights are
reversed?
