Hi guys,
What is the best way to backup an XWIKI instance? I am using XWiki
Enterprise 2.1.1.25889. I have seen a couple of options that are available
but i couldnt find one that suits my needs.
On every wiki page, there is an option to export as pdf, html, rtf or as
XAR. This is quite good but when i tried to export as html it only exports
the current page i am looking at.
There is also the import/export tool (
http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/ImportExport).
Unfortunately this exports as XAR but i want to export as html.
What i would like to do is backup the content of my wiki as html pages. It
would be usefull if i can export the whole wiki as html pages. The reason
for this is i want to be able to backup the contents incase my xwiki
instance is not accessible. I would like to still be able to access the
content. The best way for this is to backup the content as html which will
make it independent of any wiki engine.

I see only one cause for corrupted zip: an error during the export.

I see only one cause for corrupted zip: an error during the export.

it is still generating a corrupt zip file.
I see only one cause for corrupted zip: an error during the export.
You should have something in the log I think.

Hi,
No i am not using WEBDAV. Its a fresh installation of Xwiki and i have only
created about 4 pages so far.
Here are the steps i took to install it.
- Installed Tomcat 6.0
- Installed Xwiki Enterprise 2.1.1
- set up the hibernate configuration to mysql
- Installed the default set of wiki pages which provide the blog, spaces etc
(i.e. xwiki-enterprise-wiki-2.1.1.xar )
- Created a couple of wiki pages to test it.
Thats all i have done so far and is what i am trying to export. I must
mention that i did not change any configuration in Tomcat in terms of how
much memory is allocated to tomcat. Everything is at their default values.
I have seen in several wiki configuration that they recommend increasing the
amount of memory allocated to tomcat. Do you think that maybe i need to play
around with the memory allocation within Tomcat?

I found Xar handy for moving data from one (test) instance to another
(production),
though for full backup I use MySQL dump.
Backup: mysqldump -u root -ppassword --opt xwiki > xwiki.sql
Restore: mysql -u root -ppassword -Dxwiki < xwiki.sql

HTML export doe snot support dynamic css like you have in colibri skin yet.

No, but it has to be at least the same version. The database is
automatically upgraded when something changed (that's usually the way
to upgrade a XWiki instance).
