10:51 p.m.
After I stop the XWiki service. All the pages that I added are deleted. I
can't even log in again. And i have to re-register and start all over.
It's like everything is being refreshed when the service is stopped. Whats
going on?

The problem is that the database is not stored back to the disk. This
might happen if you put it on a readonly filesystem, or if you manually
override the database between restarts. This is not a normal behavior,
and it hasn't been reported by other users so far, so most likely it has
something to do with your installation.

I don't think so I've always pressed ctrl-C on windows and it has
never lost anything.

I use the shortcuts created be the installation to
start and stop the
process. If there is another way to stop the process let me know.
Otherwise, I don't think that is the issue.

Please make sure the user you used to install the package on your Vista
machine has all the rights required (eg, that you're logged-in as an admin).

I suspect that Vista somehow doesn't trust the application enough to let it
write onto the filesystem. This sometimes happen in XP as well when a file
is stored into the temp directory...
I don't have much more insight into this though - hope it may help.

Is it possible that killing the XE process (as opposed to stopping it)
would
cause this kind of behaviour ? May be HSQLDB doesn't get a chance to the data back to the disk file ....
